"C7.5" is likely
BG is adding a second shift and 400 new jobs. This, combined with the huge plant expansion means a refreshed C7 front engine is likely. 2 Corvettes.

Until they say they are continuing to produce a front engine model, I call B.S. They'll continue to make a 6.2L LT1 anyway for the Camaro and crate engines. I'm guessing the announcement is a different engine being built at Bowling Green to supply for the C8.

Did you even read? It clearly says "the traditional Corvette" and the "mid engine Corvette". 2 models. Which would explain the massive plant expansion, and addition of 300 workers and a 2nd shift.

A refreshed C7 has been confirmed today. BG is adding a 2nd shift and 300 new jobs according to Rick Conti.
Detroit Free Press: "GM’s engine plant in Spring Hill, Tennessee, will continue to make 6.2-liter engines for the traditional Corvette after the mid-engine car is launched at Bowling Green, said Mike Herron, chairman of UAW Local 1853 at Spring Hill."

This could mean anything...and is far short of a declarative statement announcing C8 FE. 6.2 LT1 are used in a variety of platforms.

Rick Conti is a dealership salesman not an official Chevrolet spokesperson. Also how does adding a second shift and 300 jobs confirm a c7 refresh? It could be they are looking to build the new Chevrolet/GMC/Cadillac "Whatever" there, just like when the corvette and Cadi XLR were built on the same line.
So you are going by what a newspaper says from an interview with a guy employed to build an engine. Those employees are there to assemble engines not say what they are for.

GMC makes trucks, SUVs and crossovers. That rules them out. Cadillac is way too busy figuring out what they are to worry about some ME expensive luxury sports car. That leaves Chevy, who will be making two Corvettes. Adding a second shift and 300 employees does not confirm a second car. I didnt say that. Do you know how to read.

The whining from the other guy about an internet comment is pretty sad as well. Both of you geniuses are providing some good entertainment today.

Confirmed…..GM just purchased Tesla and production is being moved from Tent City in California to Bowling Green. That is the reason for the announcement from GM just after Tesla reported it's great 1st quarter.
GM is going to prove that Musk is a lightweight and instead of losing 700 million in three months building Teslas, that they(GM) can lose that much money each and every month building them. The expanded PBC will be building battery cells as it appears that Panasonic isn't interested in building them for Tesla(won't spend anymore money as they (Panasonic) is also tired of losing money working with Musk).

I think the article includes some innacuracies. It claims the "LT1, LT4 and LT5 6.2L V-8 engines for Corvette" are now built at BGA, but I thought the LT1 is manufactured at GM's Tonawanda plant.
They also quote some industry analyst who claims the C8 will start at $80K and sell only 10K per year.
In other words, nothing official.
