Default which is more reliable a c6 or a c7?

the c7 has tons of electronics, while the c6 not as much. which one would be least cost in repairs? I also think the c8 can be an issue too repair wise

They both have a lot of electronics. The C6's may be more difficult to source parts. Now if it's a question of what car looks better, I'm going with the C6.

I certainly hope the C7 is more reliable.

The c6 has been around longer and there are many of them with 200k+ miles ..... so there is nothing really to compare between the two as far as reliability. I'd be interested to know what is the highest milage on a c7 currently and see if the owner had any issues

What have people found regarding reliability of C6's vs C5's? My C4 was pretty rock-solid...and it was an '84 (the poorly rated, panned redheaded stepchild of the Corvette family). I sold it with 101,000 miles on it and it had original shocks, exhaust, and motor. Hadn't changed the plugs in 20 years because it ran perfect...put it in storage every winter by just disconnecting the battery and it started right up and ran great every spring. Perhaps I was lucky, but always kinda laughed when people who never owned a Vette told me how unreliable my car was. Now, I LOVE my C6, but have seen a lot of maintenance/repair talk here that makes me think it won't have the same track record as my C4...but of course, I will still love it, no matter what since it is the perfect generation of a great car.

LS3 is a bulletproof engine. The C7 has direct injection so we shall see if those engines can go 2 to 300k miles with no issues . C7 also has the problematic 8spd. It’s been an issue in all of GM’s products. Some Z06s have had overheating issues but they may have been resolved. I just saw a guy post an engine squeal on his 400 mile 19 GS. Let’s not even talk about all the bent wheels their cars have been having. I’ll stick with my 6 year old problem free 13 GS and will never own a C7.

plus it seems that dealers are making it all complicated with cars nowadays by adding extra electronics so the user only goes to the dealer instead of a mechanic shop

I have an 08 I bought new. It currently has 137K on it. Every year I have maintenance expenses. Usually nothing major, but things break with time.

Usually reliability goes hand in hand with its ugliness -- so C7 will probably not be too reliable. that is why the C6 is reliable.. nice looking.

I don't know about anyone else but there's something about you and your posts that makes whatever you say irrelevant, cant quite put a finger on it but you are just annoying as hell

Most members here on the Corvette Forum don't normally include there sexual preference in there username

Last I checked ... This ain't a dating site

.

Troll indeed...
might as well ask, "is it further to Chicago, or by bus?" Did you walk to work, or bring your lunch? Are you alone, or just by yourself?

Gayvettelover is AKA Speedy08. Before that his CF name was Gandeboz and before that Kharouf. Remember the old water bottle on my windshield thread?

https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...ld-wipers.html

Same guy just a new CF name.
