So what happens to the NSX after July 18?
If the C8 is unveiled at 500+hp and under $90k base? It feels like the C8 is gonna do what the NSX originally was trying to do in the 90s

I doubt it will make a whole lot of difference.. in the US at least. They sold 170 last year, and less than 100 so far this year. They'll sell more C8s in its first week of production than the NSX has sold in the last 3 years.

The biggest hurdle that the new ME Corvette will have to overcome is perception from younger generations.
You will still have that 'stigma' by alot of folks that don't know any better that it's a 'mid-life crisis' or 'old man' car.
So even with the low to mid $60k base price point of the C8 the NSX is still going to likely have more draw with the younger crowd.
Just my $0.02 on what the general population will likely have when comparing the two which I really don't see being cross shopped by real buyers.

Under $90K base? you mean under $65K base... car will most likely be $60,400 base no options before destination fee.

Im sure acura will continue to sell the same 200 units a year
honda may lower the pricing further just to move the metal...
supposedly a nice driving car...just lacks passion

Methinks the NSX is soon to be extinct, C8 or no C8.

The NSX is a really nice car IMO.
Too bad it doesn't seem to be a sales success.

IMO A lot of "lost sales" on the new NSX were due to HONDA promising and showing the car for almost 5 freaking years before it finally came out.
IMO these cars (ME's) are "whims" and usually they require immediate fulfillment, or people move on.
There is a GT3 NSX, no electrics and lighter and it is doing well in its' class (all women team).
However, it is $500k to start.
I wanted a "super hybrid" as I decided if I was going to go hybrid, I wanted a bitchin one, and the I8 is a POS, but it is selling.
FYI the NSX comes with a 10 year drivetrain warranty.
As far as a DIY car, IMO any ME is going to require a lift, or a pit to be able to work on it.

The used market will take whatever becomes available I am sure, after the novelty wears off or the lease expires.
