Default Forest Dwellers - How do you keep your C7 clean

I have seen SO many posts of people in dry hot climates saying, "I have never washed my car in 2 years, I just lightly dust it".

I - on the other hand live in the Willamette Valley, Oregon. Beautiful country for sure, but there are so many trees and so much pollen and so many bugs its seems impossible to keep my 2019 GS clean.

2-3 hours outside this time of year and there are literally thousands of micro sized specs of tree sap on the paint. I had a ceramic coating on my black C6 and it worked OK, but honestly wasn't all that different from my C7 with a fresh wax job...

Just curious on how those who live in a forested sap dripping climate keep your car clean without a scrubbing wash every day...

Meguiars Wash and Wax Meguiars Wash and Wax
Maguiars Ultimate Detailer Maguiars Ultimate Detailer

Don't park under any trees.

Just go to the "wand car wash" regularly.....or, if you have a pressure washer, use that.... both my cars are dirty - C7 and an old Ferrari - been raining a lot.... after spraying I go drive fast to dry them off....

The Willamette Valley is stunning country for sure - Always liked Oregon. You may consider getting a ceramic coating applied to make cleaning easier. Ceramic Pro is what I had applied and I am happy with it.

I have only washed my car twice in the year I have had it, but a 5 minute power rinse at the self service
quarter wash every week or two and it looks great! One of the reasons I chose Blade Silver over other
colors, it doesn't look dirty even when it is.

OK, I'm officially confused. Do you wash it twice a year or twice, maybe thrice a month?

Washing is washing, there is no "really" washing and "sorta" washing.

Either it is clean or it's not. Carshow clean doesn't count for 99% of us.

I thought I was clear -

Washed = with soap
Rinse = just water
Not interested in "show car clean" , more fun driving it

Same here Makitso! One of the reasons I wanted silver too.
Ive had mine since November. Haven’t washed it yet. Just wipe downs with waterless wash about once a week or so. I do use waterless wash on the front for bugs, after every trip.

I DD mine and cQuartz Pro ceramic was the best thing I did for cleaning... I only washed the car 5 times in a year using a single towel per panel and blow drying after... Almost every weekend I would foam spray it and rinse and blow it off never touching the point...

Easiest car I have ever cleaned, doing the same thing to my new one this weekend

Stage 1 paint correction
cQuartz UK 3.0 @ 3 coats
2 coats Gliss

I had my'17 ZO6 ceramic coated-professionally. My house is surrounded by trees, and at this time of the year, in Florida the dreaded love bugs!
I keep the car in the garage. I power wash it as needed-maybe at least once a week. I drive it almost every day!
I enjoy washing it, and look at it as part of the fun of owning such a great car!

Living in the Willamette Valley as well, all my 'vettes have RARELY see a cleaning with water. I swear by Griots Waterless Carwash.

That, coupled with Xpel Ultimate and Meguiar's NXT 2.0 has (does?) kept 'em all looking great while being easy to do

Kep stuff around like speedshine and bug and smudge remover for spots. I live in the Northern Woods and I find a garage works great when at home. You have a garage?

I also live in the woods and a garage works best, but I have one sticky piece of sap that refuses to come off. I'm afraid to use anything harsh on it. Any ideas?

I have the same color car you do. I had one of those stubborn sap drops on my car when I lived in Portland. I dabbed a little gasoline on it and it dissolved it. Of course I cleaned and waxed the spot afterward. Never an issue.

If denatured alcohol doesn’t work, try acetone on a microfiber.

Default know it well

Went to the U of O for grad school and taught in Canby, St Paul, Gresham and Sandy; you know how dry it gets in the Valley into June/July so
repeated washings are about the only (relatively cheap) solution. Plan to go down and visit that plane museum in McMinnville.

Life is a cycle..if I drive it and I think it needs some TLC I will wash it..for me it's therapeutic...my detailing will take hours, But...in reality.... I think it helps me..FYI.. stereo has to be on..and a beer or 3 waiting..
Pic included...
