Always take the time to park away from other cars....
I typically always try and park far out and away from other cars so as to avoid door dings etc. Few months ago I was in a rush and thought to myself "hey, what are the chances?" Well, the "chances" got me. Car is all fixed now and looks great. But I def was shocked to see this. Looks like it was backed into by a lifted truck. I have part of the “Ford” tow hitch cover that was lodged in the hood as a souvenir. No note. No surveillance video. Be careful in parking lots. You never know when this will happen.

Yup..first time I drove it this season I parked in right in front of the gun store I was in. Guy comes in and says the dreaded words "anyone own a silver corvette". So.. I put the gun down and say "hit it"....yup..with my truck. oh joy. He only did minor damage to the right quarter, didn't even crack it. Put a nice crease down the side of his truck though. All fixed and looks better than new. But I try not to park anywhere near...anything. And someone hit my truck last week ...parked. So now that goes to the body shop.

Ouch. But yeah, our cars are soo low, some people with high profile vehicles don't even see them when they back up. Parking the Vette in public probably stresses me more than anything else Vette related.

WTF!!!!!!! Really? You have to have pretty low integrity to do that much damage and take off. We need force fields!

Part of me thinks it was on purpose. The force was so strong it sheered the alternator bracket in half. That seems like more than just a slow idle roll in reverse. But then again, I’m probably just angry about it. Haha.

Looking at that damage, it does look intentional. The *****.

A lot of the lifted truck owners I've met, are young & arrogant punks. It wouldn't surprise me, if that was intentional.

I do try to park away from other vehicles. But ever so often, in a part of the lot where there is virtually no other vehicles I park When I come, some idiot parks right next to me. But as long as no damage, no issues. In my younger years, I probably would waited for the owner to come.
I avoid going to Walmart/shopping centers/BJ's/Cosco/etc. with the Vette. Only asking for damage trouble.

I agree that it looks like it was intentional because of the force that It would take to penetrate that deep into the hood. It also would have to be extremely important for me to put my car in parking lot were some *** could damage my car. When I do go into a lot with my other cars, I do have certain situations I would not leave them in.

i hear ya. But you can’t drive around in a bubble. I parked closer and in more “traffic” than I typically do. But perhaps this would have happened regardless. I’m not trying to say don’t drive your cars bc that’s ridiculous. But I guess I’m saying be mindful where you park no matter if close or far.
