Who will get the $1/year C8 leases?
As GM promotes the "and now for something completely different" C8 campaign; it harkens back to when the Corvette was associated with Americas Greatest Achievement, the Space Program:
Why Americas first Astronauts all drove Corvettes
Was the association between space flight and Corvettes made?
From an overseas observer
Corvette ode to an era of excess
So, who will be GM's the few, the proud, the almost free C8 drivers, to win American hearts and minds?

From the astronaut campaign, I figured that this car (C3) must be the best car in the world because these men, they fly the most powerful, most sophisticated piece of rocketship that money can buy.
If these men, among the smartest, most perfect specimen of the Homo Sapiens they could find, who risk their lives sitting on top of huge canisters of rocket fuel like the Corvette, it must be the best car in the world.

Anyone remember that TV show "Viper"? It was a viper that would change shape and had a drone come out of its trunk. I was just a kid, but I thought the show was cool for the short time it lasted.
What GM would be wise to do, is what they did with Transformers and the cool looking vette they never used...
but instead, do that with a real car they plan to produce... and figure out how to time it with a good movie.
But, it has to be genuine... it can't be corny. The details about how the suspension works, how the engine works, how the turbos work... it all has to play an important part in the movie to spotlight the car.
I do not believe this will ever be pulled off successfully by GM, but if they wanted to make waves... it would be similar to "The Transporter" movie when the guy had the S8, and everyone wanted one.
There has to be a movie which shows the car, before the public can have the car. The movie or TV series is essentially the reveal of the car.
They would have to start now to make it in time for the c9.
Bruckheimer did a good job with Bad Boys 1 and the 911 turbo.

Charlie Sheen. He really boosted sales of the Fiat Abarth.
