Default 1978 corvette problems

My father was working on his corvette with out my supervision, he dosn't know much about cars so he shorted the alternator + and smoke came from the passenger side engine bay it sounded like something was sizziling not burning now none of the car's electronics work at all

Sound's like the fusible link down by the starter.

In your case it looks like a toasted wire! Look for bubbled insulation and general toasty-ness.....then consider replacing the whole wire.

the links are the short sections of wire between those white barrels and the eyelets connected to the starter solenoid.
