Which premium gas is preferred?
Just joined Costco. Not for the gas but was wondering the quality of their gas product. I'm a firm BP or Shell purchaser. However at Costco prices on gas are way cheaper. My Dad's voice kicks in with "you get what you pay for" advice. Soooo ! Whats the consensus on your choice of gas. What's in your wallet?

I only put Top Tier gas in the Vette. I want all the performance I can get, no compromises. While I also use Top Tier gas in our Lexus, I'm not as particular with those vehicles and I'll put in any brand if I'm pressed for time.
No compromise with the Corvette.

There is a ton of gas threads on the forum for the OPs reading enjoyment. To summarize: All the base gas comes from the same place, and its just the additive package that makes it different from brand to brand. Costco is unique in that they add their package at the pumps and not when the truck is being filled like most places, but its good stuff.
Stick with Top Tier for the most part (occasional fill ups of non top tier is fine) and get whatever is most convenient/cheapest. Top Tier standards require extra cleaners (and paying the fee), but skipping it occasionally doesn't compromise performance, and they'll do their job the next time.

You can clearly see that Costco is a certified top tier gasoline in both USA and Canada. From the official Top Tier site:

Any issues with Costco gas. I used to use it in my 2010 Nissan 370Z. At times it would run rough at idle. However that was in 2014. At times GasBuddy would show Costco at Top Tier and other times not so. Maybe they have now changed to a more permanent procedure of using Top Tier additives all the time.

The lines and how few locations Costco has aren’t worth the savings. My car or truck don’t run well on Arco. I only use Shell and with their FuelRewards program and cash back by using my Costco credit card I’m getting the best gas as inexpensively and conveniently as possible.

I use Kroger Food Chain 93 octane, which is Shell in my area.

Top Tier is standard defined my a bunch of auto manufacturers who realized the federal minimum required additive package might not be enough, particularly for direct injection cars. It is not related to octane.
