Default 6/23/19 Yellow ZR1 delivery and more/ Corvette Throwback pics/C8*Mike Furman@Criswell

~I truly enjoy each and every Corvette delivery but lately, it seems many 1st time Corvette owners have been buying C7's. That got me thinking
about the C8...how many folks will be first time Corvette owners? The C7 has been very successful and it's my opinion the C8 will equal and most likely easily
surpass the C7 in total sales over the same period of time (6 model years).
* The Reveal of the next Generation Corvette (C8) will be enjoyed World Wide via the internet and various other media sources. When the 1984 Corvette made its
debut it wasn't even called the C4...that's how long ago I started being involved with Corvettes (July 26th, 1978 officially will be the start of my 42nd year).
It wasn't until the 1997 Corvette did the Generation term C5 get designated for the break down of the different Gen Corvettes.

~The picture below was taken in the 1990 time frame. I was appraising a 1958 Corvette for a trade in value...wish I could have that Corvette in my garage right about now!

Hang on to your hats as the Best is yet to come. www.corvettefurman.com

I am on vacation June 29th-July 7th so the next Delivery Post will be after I return from some R&R.

Phil K. of Brentwood, Tennessee had touched base with me a while back as he had called many of the top Corvette dealers seeking a very hard to come by allocation for a 2019 ZR1. I gave him a call when his number came up and he placed his order for Corvette Museum Delivery. ZR1! # 2,527 is all theirs now as this past Monday Phil and Leslie had the red carpet rolled out for their delivery at the Museum in Bowling Green, KY. Equipment list for his Racing Yellow ZR1: Auto transmission, Jet Black Competition seats, Red Calipers, ZTK Track Performance Pkg, Yellow stitching and 3ZR pkg...and of course R8C.

~Bob and Suzanne W. Of Columbia, South Carolina were referred to me and made an appt. last week. They flew up to Criswell last Saturday in search of their very first Corvette. They were a gasp at the size of my 120+ Corvette inventory.
They had a few specifics in mind and they landed on an Arctic White 2019 Stingray CPE with Adrenaline Red seats. We did the paperwork/payment process via Fed Ex and This weekend Plycar trucking picked up their new Corvette to bring to their home in South Carolina.
Equipment list: Auto transmission, CF badge pkg, Black Motorsports Aluminum wheels, Red calipers, 1LT Pkg, performance exhaust and much more. So here’s a nod to the 1953 Corvette, because all 300 of the first year Corvette were White with Red interior.
Words from Bob W. off of his Dealerrater review...
"Have purchased many cars over the years, but have never had a better experience than at Criswell Chevrolet. Worked with Mike Furman in purchasing a new Corvette Stingray. He could not have been more attentive and helpful. Although we live in a different state, the process could not have been easier. I highly recommend this dealership and Mike Furman!"
Bob W. - South Carolina

~Terry and Susan J. are from Iowa originally but after Terry retired they moved to Alvaton, KY as they are Lifetime Members of the Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, KY. I see Terry every year when I visit the Museum because Terry helps out and does Security at big events for the Corvette Museum. He and I spoke in April at this year's Corvette Bash and I gave him a sight unseen trade-in value on their 2016 Corvette. They bought their first new Corvette in 1985 and their new Elkhart Lake Blue 2019 Grand Sport is the 6th Corvette they have owned. This ’19 GS will join their 1996 Admiral Blue/Red Grand Sport and their Blue 1963 Corvette GS Tribute car(see pics below). Equipment list: two-tone red interior, Heritage Pkg, Auto transmission, White Center Stripe, red hash marks, CF painted mirrors, Navigation /PDR and 2LT Pkg.
This week they drove the 650 miles up from KY in the 2016 Corvette and Thursday morning we traded Corvettes. Terry is having the wheels chromed so that way the whole barrel gets chromed!
Two super nice active Corvette folks that drive everywhere in their Corvettes. They participate in many Museum in Motion Road tours so say hello and check out their Corvette the next time you see them.

~Bob and Nancy P. of Pasadena, Maryland were referred to me by a Corvette customer and fellow Golfing friend of mine. They came in yesterday morning to test drive this Nightrace Blue 2015 Stingray Z51 Cpe and quickly decided this was their Corvette, first of many!
Equipment list: Auto transmission, red calipers, chrome wheels, Navigation /PDR and 2LT Pkg. Only 892 Nightrace Blue Stingray Coupe's produced in 2015!

~Some others that left the yard.

~Here is a Throwback delivery picture of a gal that just took delivery of a brand new 1985 Chevrolet Monte Carlo. Notice the Paper temp tag in the rear window.
That is how it was done back in the day.

~Last weeks delivery letter and picture...

"Hi Mike, I had to share the experience Barb and I had with the Z06 today. We drove it out to Antietam National Battlefield and back. Took the back roads on both legs of the journey. All I can say is that this car is amazing. Had Barb giggling every time we hit a twisty section of the road. What an upgrade and so glad I bought this car from you. Thanks again for taking care of us. " Kevin/Barb of VA

~~The Frank Class Corvette Barn Find and throwback picture section. Post up your favorite pic.~~

The above picture is what you see after you attend the Corvette owner school at Spring Mountain in Pahrump, Nevada.

Have a great week driving Corvettes and seeing sights like above.

I hadn't seen that picture in about 25 years when I came across it a few years ago. But here's the funny part of the story...

That appraisal picture was 1990...fast forward to 2013 and a woman came in to test drive a new Traverse so we went on a ride and she wanted to see if the
Traverse fit in her garage and show her husband. She said he has an old Corvette...we pull up the driveway and it's the very same 1958 Corvette in the garage that I had appraised back in 1990.
I asked the husband if he was going to switch it back to a Fuelie? He said how did you know from 30 feet??? I just had to tell him the small world story.

Mike,

Thanks for having this thread up early as I'm heading out with the family in 30 minutes for a day trip and iwss starting to get a little anxious I'd have to sneak in some alone time somewhere along the way to get caught up lol.

Thanks for getting me through the toughest (first world problem) decision I've had to make in a long time this week. What color Corvette to order lol...you got me through the interio quick... that wss easy as its identical to yours! But outside and the exterior itself. Complete opposite lol.

To anyone reading this and on the fence about who to buy from, I can assure you that after a solid 30 plus cars and trucks over my life purchased new, if i could purchase every single vehicle from Mike Furman for the rest of time I would sign up for that in a heart beat...

Not only a Corvette Sales Icon, but a friend. Never would I have thought I would travel 3.5hrs away to purchase a new Corvette especially given my geographical location being near so many other places that advertise how great they are.

Meeting Mike in Carlisle in 2016 was all I needed (and reading these delivery threads) to know when I finally purchased as new Corvette I would be going through Mike. True story... my wife's mouth dropped when I said to Mike, "I'm going to purchase my first new Corvette from you..." and Mime replied, "it will happen..."

2 months later not only did i purchase my 2016 from Mike, but my buddy and I returned for his identical Z06 the following week just in a different color.

I'm so grateful that you made the time for me knowing how busy you are especially right now..you helped me get through this (first time I've ever ordered a vehicle out of all those newly purchased) process so thoroughly, patiently, and you couldn't have been more insightful.

This was a tough......tough week to get through having flip flopped on the exterior color 4 or 5 times.

Then you finally know you have it right when you STOP visiting the Corvette build simulator and that was in great part due to your advice and recommendations. Who knows better than you? Nobody on thisnpalnet having seen so many order so many you're a walking encyclopedia on the subject.

Cant wait to get down there in a month or so and pick up my second new Corvette from you Buddy!

Enjoy that vacation...well deserved.. God Bless!

Favorite pic of the week. 20 years agi none of us could have omagined a factory built corvette would be that menacing... the 60s have nothing on what we are enjoying now.

not the lottery but man it felt like I won something when I got this back..

Morning Mike,

It is nice to hear there are many first time buyers buying C7s.

Congratulations to the new owners this week.

Have a great week and enjoy your vacation.

Thanks Mike for another great Sunday morning of pictures of happy new owners and a little bit of corvette history. It's been exactly one month since I was one of those happy new owners, and I am even happier now. Have a great vacation. Thank you for all you do to help keep America's sports car rolling. How the heck did that vette get under that semi like that? My favorite this week:

My gosh what an incredible story for sure. It is right up there with your future wife coming home from the hospital as a newborn in a Corvette. These stories, among the many others you can tell, will go over quite well when you give your acceptance speech into the National Corvette Museum.

I liked the pictures from the Pagoda Plaza at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.I counted three pictures outside and four inside.
I was at this car show on Friday and got to drive my 2019 Sebring Orange Grand Sport around the 500 mile race track. Were you at this show? How did you get these pictures so fast?

You have got to be kidding about the red part above! 23 years later? Wow!

And I thought Post #2 of 16C7Z was the best post---this one ranks right up there but for a completely different reason!

The same Vette---that is really an incredible memory and story.

And have a great vacation!

I had noticed when I appraised it as a 32 yr old car in 1990 that the '58 was an original Fuelie car! In 2013 it was 23 years later viewing the same 1958 Corvette.

Hard to forget such a cool car!
