What has been added to this C6?
Sorry in advance!
Newly acquired fan of the C6s (hang out in C2 mostly) and saw this mod on the lower rear of a 2012 GS. Don't recall ever seeing anything similar. What is it? I don't think it's stock, but, then again, I'm a C6 dummy!

The lower body mod is a diffuser, which on a race car is designed to suck air out from under the car and increase downforce.
The car in the picture is also sporting a ZR1 rear wickerbill style spoiler.

Ok, thanks guys.
It IS Carlisle Blue, kind of a rarer color for 2012 and no pictures of door sills. Paint seems to be correct, just couldn't figure the add-on. That's all I could come up with, was some sort of wind tunnel effect as it appears to have an aftermarket spoiler on the front too. Actually, kinda similar to what Nascar runs.
Anyway, is that stuff removable without damaging the car? May just be me, but, if you have no plans to race, it sure detracts from the rear end!

The spoiler on the front will be a splitter, and is most likely a copy of the splitter that came on the ZR1.

FWIW: I have also seen pylon, pedestal and duckbill spoilers available for the rear of the C6 Corvette.
YMMV

C6 of Year Finalist (appearance mods) 2019
It's a aftermarket diffuser that has been painted to match the car. Pretty easy to change, just kinda cramped to get to the inside screws.
Here is my stock one painted AW.

FWIW - I like the look of the body colored diffusers. It makes the car look like it's really running belly to the ground. Now I have another project.

it is a diffuser and it does not look nice on a C6 imo.

Just saw the rest of the car, the Hapsburg jaw hanging off the front end is awful too.

Why put all the air flow add-on stuff AND have it painted to match, unless one is going to actually do something with it? Personally, I don't think it adds anything to the car's natural look.
Just as an FYI, I got this from the dealership when asking about the diffuser: "To answer your question, this piece is stock with the vehicle." Bwahahaha!

The mods are a personal taste and I don't think it's any indication of whether the car was raced or not. Imo, I don't care for the aftermarket painted diffusers.
