How many people are waiting on the C8 Z?
I currently have a C7 and had a deposit on the 8. After doing some thinking, I decided to move my deposit to the higher horsepower variant(C8Z or whatever it will be called) I知 not going to sacrifice this time around. I知 going all in. How many of you guys will be willing to wait?

I知 getting whatever drops first. Then trading for the z06 when it drops.

No interest in a base car here. I知 holding out for the C8 Z version or upgrading to a ZR1 when prices drop.

I will buy the base convertible, keep it and give it to wifey, and then buy a Z06 a year or so later.

Despite having multiple deposits dating back to 2014, I won't pull the trigger unless it's something I really want out of the gate. Though, I'm looking forward to the day when I can park my C7 ZR1 next to my C8 ZR1/Zora

Base model corvettes have always been very bland compared to the z06 and up versions and they have never interested me. I have never owned a base model and will wait and see what the z06 version brings.

Buying the C8, hopefully with a Z51 package and will trade down the road depending on what comes out. Don't want to miss a minute of driving..

Well, I can say factually that I waited all the way through C7, without ever buying one because they never ended up building the one I wanted. I came VERY close to a GrandSport but...it just wasn't worth it to me. It didn't do enough to make me cross the line...I was approved and all, great interest and just backed out of the deal. Frankly, in many ways I think the Z51 is the best car you can buy, with the value/performance proposition, but GS is a very close 2nd. ZR1 is a great car, but isn't even a consideration for me...I'd go GenV ACR over that car all day everyday and I think Dodge sucks....but that GenV ACR was supremely executed.
I'm a picky mfer honestly...and for a new car to sell me, it better be exactly what I want, or I'd MUCH rather buy used and build what suits my tastes and needs. If I'm going to compromise...I'll compromise with my own modifications and balance of performance/comfort/cost.
Often times, the best car is the base car....max value and still get the full chassis/platform investment. C7 didn't appeal to me enough, so I'll wait until a GS is 30k and I'll buy one and do what I want with it. I don't need the best of the best and newest of the new and all that bs. I look at cars, much like Soichiro Honda spoke about life: The value of life can be measured by how many times your soul has been deeply stirred.
Cars need to "stir my soul"...or they immediately lose value to me. Having owned over 110 cars from a myriad of brands...Lambo, Ferrari, Porsche, BMW, AMG, Honda, Toyota, DSM, Chevrolet, Ford, etc....very few "STIR" me...and for that reason I sold them all. Often it takes hindsight for me to even see the value of a certain car, which will then make it go on my list of "re-obtain".

Melting Slicks
Unless the Z51 version of the base car just knocks my socks off, I'll stick with my 19 GS until the Z model comes out. I still get a serious kick out of my current Corvette, so I can be patient.
