Headlight pin 2 vs 3 and LED?
Hey all, first, I hope all is well as I have been off line for a while...
I am trying to upgrade the headlights in the 65 Black car and have already put LED's in the high/low side by ordering new buckets, modifying them for the LED heat sinks and everything looks great, with the exception that the LED's have that flat, narrower line that I need to get used to.
Now I want to put the same 3 pin lights into the high beam, yet the stock T3 lights I have only have two plugs. On a lark, I just tried to plug the 2 pin plug into the 3 pin light, and.... Nothing..
I am assuming that the ground wire is in a different place on the 2 pin vs the 3 pin?
Correct to assume the ground on the car is the black wire and power is the green wire?
If so, which of the 3 plugs on the standard 3 plug headlight is ground... ( I am assuming its the single horizontal plug?0
Thanks for the advice!!
Andy

My 3-pin H4 lamps have the center low beam element tab on the bulbs bent down to work with the factory 2-pin high beam sockets (with Halogen and LED bulbs).
They may not light if you turn the 2-pin socket around due to polarity.

Yea, one would think that with the 2 pin and being the ground and high beam as you show, that they would have worked... At least on high beam.... Hmmmmm

Some time with a test light or VOM, and working the foot switch for high beam, may help troubleshoot the situation.
