I was stupid
I was wrong.
I am sorry.
I truly didn't think it would have a 6.2L.
Not sure about price yet but it's looking like 70's so I was wrong on that too.
Crow for dinner.

Viper, I admire your fortitude in coming back and saying that. Yes, you were wrong about everything, but you are honorable enough to admit it.

"In honor of jpee"
I'll give you big credit, Viper. You're the FIRST to report back on being wrong. Kudos to you. It's ok to have views and opinions strongly held. It's better when you can own up to them in the face of being/missing the mark. Take care. Come back. Price is starting reallllllll lowwwww, too. Teaser price, of course, but will get lotsa people in the door and many will buy the car, at some price.

That under $60,000 price is meaningless. Good press, but means nothing.
No dealer is going to order a stripped, no option C8 for his inventory until the final year before the C9 is being released.
The only way anyone is going to get a sub $60,000 C8 is to special order it, and I bet that if the dealers have a waiting line, the customers wanting to order loaded up cars will somehow move to the front of the line, in front of those that want to order a sub $60,000 car.
The dealers are going to do everything possible to maximize their profits, before the discounting begins.
I bet that the typical MSRP of the coupe for the first two years is around $70,000 - $75,000 and another $5,000 on top of that the retracting hardtop model.
