Agreed. I really liked nearly everything about the C8, except two things. One I can live with - the rear design. With the right color, should be better. One I can't live without. A manual. Will this happen in future models (z06) or as an option? I read somewhere GM has a patent on clutch-by-wire. Oh, here it is... https://www.roadandtrack.com/new-car...te-mid-engine/

Im going to try and remain hopeful, but the way that screen is placed in the center, it appeared that it might hinder stick placement. Might have to see how this DCT turns out. I like my M7 - A LOT.

Yeah, I know, me too. On the positive side, my wife went gaga over it, and she will insist on an auto. It's looking like a C8 may sit beside my C7 M7 convertible.

DCT> Manual...all day and everyday though I enjoy performing a clean heal toe on a good ol' manual....to be honest I love both, given the choice, DCT for me for the C8. I am all for GM offering a manual though...after all, even Porsche ended up doing it with the GT3....

Manuals are dying. The new GT500 doesn't come with one either. The Viper is dead. Porsche is killing it. DCT is the future. It sucks but is what it is. Just need to have two cars now

It has been discussed here many times, but bears mentioning again that there is no manual transaxle (a requirement for an ME) currently produced that can handle the torque announced for the LT2 tonight. I wish there were but right now that's where things stand.
Porsche can still do it in their 911 versions that develop under 400 ft lbs.

Easy fix for this problem: Keep your C7! I am. Done. I love it, will keep it, die with it. Fine by me.

Me too, but after tonight, my wife wants a C8, and I'd be OK with a DCT C8 beside my C7 M7. She also has the means to pay for it herself. Life is good.

Yep and this trans is pretty exciting sounding.
especially when you get to the 1:45ish mark and it talking about how it can still be building from one gear even as the other is coming in virtually eliminating any lag AND being able to drive off of BOTH clutch shafts under hard launches to keep the power going

That ship has sailed for us manual lovers. You could pay $60K more for a Cayman with less power but you'll get a manual!
