Actually, I saw a couple of articles today that stated the base car will have 490 HP, and the Z51 will have 495. Not sure where the Z51 gets the extra 5 HP from. I agree that both are potent based on the 0-60 time.

The 0-60 time sure gets folks excited. I want to hear about 60-150. It runs a 12 second 1/4. So it’s not in a Zs league in speed.

Idk why people get so wrapped up in HP numbers. HP is BS and only one variable. Weight, gearing, tires, aero, are all things that play a major role in a cars performance.
Also, in no world is 495hp minimal.

I have a 525 rwhp C6 and although fun, it's really quite useless particularly during the winter. It'll easily spin 345 R888rs up to 50 mph or so.
495 crank hp sounds like plenty honestly. I don't think I have any interest in the Z06 version but I guess we'll see.

And that's the BASE engine. For a while, they were talking 6 cylinder. The first C6 was 400 HP, buy the time it was over, it grew to 638. I think it's a great car, that, like all of them, will keep on getting better!

Bragging rights are a powerful thing....
The most horsepower ever in a base Corvette and it's not enough....
Yeah that's it. Bet it won't do 140, huh.
