Couple of bottles of techron in the gas tank. Make sure that it gets into the right side tank. Each one holds about 9 gallons, so make sure that you have at least 12 gallons in so that it will flow over into the right side tank.

I bought a 2002 Z06 about three years ago with 4,000 miles. I changed the tires, all fluids, and had the valve springs replaced. I have had no problems since which is consistent with the many other low mileage cars I have purchased in the past.

I bought my '02 Z06 3 years ago with 5,100 miles. The 2nd owner I purchased from had already changed out all the fluids, battery, tires, belts etc prior to
my buying it. Except for when I change the the oil, the car has needed absolutely zero maintenance during those 3 years and feels/drives very much like
a new car.

If the oil doesn't get changed, despite mileage, it can become oxidized and acidic.
A low mileage car still requires maintenance. It should have been driven once in a while and not just sitting for years on end.
Anything mechanical needs to be used once in a while. Otherwise, I wouldn't have a problem with one with low miles.

If the car was driven on a periodic basis to keep the seals lubricated, you may not have any problem with them
leaking. Just do a thorough inspection of the car, especially on a lift, to see if there is any trace of leaks.

Just my experience, but I did not have good experiences with the two super low mileage vehicles I bought. I think they both sat a lot without maintenance, which probably contributed to the issues. I wouldn't do it again, but that's just me.

Over the five years I owned it, it wound up needing new tires, new belts, new exhaust, fresh fluids, new brakes, brake work; the list went on and on. I know that most of this is regular maintenance that would be required on ANY car, regardless of age, but the sheer volume of things that went wrong with this vehicle far exceeded any other vehicle I've ever owned. I only put about 10,000 miles a year on it and those were very gentle miles. When I sold it, I went on line to my mechanic's web site and added up all of the bills; it came to $15,000, which is what I paid for it. I'll never buy a super low mileage vehicle again, but as you see from this thread, a lot of people have had good luck with them.

One good indication is the air conditioning. The seals in that system are usually the first to go if the car has not been properly stored and occasionally run.

If the air doesn't work...

Sorry for my ignorance, but WTF is the big deal with a 20+yr old car that has less miles on it than a pedal bike???
My 21yr old C5 runs as sweet as a nut & looks magnificent inside & out & it has 130k on the clock & cost me $9k last November!!

I have personally owned four C5 cars and have owned and sold dozens more as part of my businesses. Remarkably the C5 does hold up well at higher mileage and I have seen 200,000 mile examples that were a joy to drive and seemed very reliable.

On the other hand, there is no substitute for new or as new which comes with the ultra low mileage examples. I have a very low mileage example that drives exactly like the multiple new ones I bought. If you are willing to pay for the like new unmolested car...that is your choice. I don't think anyone would denigrate the well used example that has been lovingly cared for and enjoyed.

I've had 2 low mileage C5's. The 2001 convertible I used to own had 13K miles on it when I sold it and I currently have a 2003 ZO6 with 10K miles on it. On both of them all I had to do was change the original tires and all the fluids and I've been good to go. Later model vehicles don't leak like the older vehicles did when they're sitting. These low mile Corvettes are stored indoors and just driven sparingly until they get sold to the next owner. I wouldn't worry about it---just enjoy the car.

I've owned my '02Z since new, and it currently has 20k miles on it. I try to drive it at least twice a month, since I'm a bit disabled now, and it's not real comfortable. It has never leaked anything except from the differential when it was pretty new still. I've modified the car in many ways, and it now has 643 RWHP, and otherwise sounding pretty rowdy, it could easily be a DD.

I'm curious why you would have the valve springs replaced with only 4K miles...

You don't know about the faulty springs the factory installed in '02-3s? Many grenaded engines because of cheap *** VS.

As ZEEVETTE states there have been several reports of valve springs breaking and causing engine damage. I felt it was cheap insurance.
