Would you sell your C1/C2 to buy a C8
I imagine that overwhelming the answer will be no but for the first time ever, I actually considered the possibility. And I haven't yet ruled it out yet either. I've owned my 65 for 42 years and have done many things to it over that time that's kept it fun to drive but I'm also not getting any younger and working under it or under the dash just isn't much fun anymore. And it seems to take forever to complete any single task and like most of us, I've already lined up 3 or 4 more things to do before I've even finished the first thing.
I've been in the process of rebuilding my power steering pump for a couple of months now! Bought a seal kit right off and it took a month to get around to disassembling my pump only to discover they sent me the wrong kit. Ordered another one, it's wrong too! Will just buy a rebuilt pump now and be done with it but think of all the time I could have been driving it instead! I'm kinda over with tinkering with it all the time and would rather just enjoy driving it but it just doesn't seem to work out that way.
I have a classic 1978 GMC motorhome that I've been tinkering with for 15 years now and have not spent a single night in it. Finally gave up last year and bought a 2017 diesel pusher that no sooner than we get back from a trip, we start planning another.

So the choice is between driving a rare icon or something a whole bunch of other people will have in 18 months.
Yeah - let me think about that one.

My stats teacher would say this research question construction is flawed.
Id sell my ‘69 tomorrow towards buying a C8. I wouldn’t sell my ‘63 for any reason.
Theres no relationship between my C2 and a C8. YRMV.

If I wanted a C8, I would just go out and buy one.

Burning Brakes
Consider ownership costs. Insurance will most likely cost more. Maintenance costs, tires, if your 'ok' with this. I found this out when I had my 08 Zo6. Tires cost $2,300 and had to have extended warranty due to fear of the valve problem that haunted the 'Z' during that era. $$$$. On the other hand, I loved the car. And the C8 looks like to be a real beauty. But I don't think I would part with the '67' .

No need to sell my 67 to get a C8. The 06 will go towards that end, and the result will be having the best of both worlds!

Almost Retired
Not this year, I would never buy the year of a complete change over, there will be many bugs to be worked out and unless they want to us for that, I'll wait a year or two. And I agree I would not sell my oldie to but a newie, if I want a new one I will find a way to buy it!

C2 of the Year Finalist - Modified 2020
C2 of Year Finalist (performance mods) 2019
I like the C8 but would not buy the first year production. The C8 has 50 more hp than my 66 but is 600 pounds heavier. On my drive this morning in 90 degree heat I thought about the new mid engine and the auto only is going to be hard to swallow. As we get older things change so you should never say never.
That 0-60 time is impressive!

The newest corvette I've ever driven is a 67. I've often wanted to get in a corvette without carrying a small tool kit, knowing the a/c would keep me comfortable, knowing I could leave it unattended, and knowing that my wife would ride with me without complaining. None of the previous generations did anything for me. Same old thing, different wrapper. But, I have to admit that the C8 has me intrigued. I wouldn't trade my C2s for it but I'll revisit the C8 in a couple years. I like where GM has gone with this.

Hell No!!! My C7 Z06 is going, to make room for the C8 Z06 when it arrives. I may like the new ones, but they are disposable. The old classics are keepers.

No interest in owning a C8. Not interested in modern cars. Anything later than about 1972 to me is simply transportation. An appliance to get from A to B. My next purchase, if I make it, will be another '30's-'40's car....Buick/Cadillac/Packard.

I am thinking about letting my 67 go for a C8. After a while you just get tired of cleaning the plugs and adjusting the carb, I think at 75 I might be ready to hang up the wrench, just today I was in the forum and the conversation was on control valves for air conditioning. I had to get my cold storage book out and refresh myself, this was something that I prided myself in knowing as I had taught the Carrier course for several years. I guess the Bourbon dissolved some brain cells. Guys keep up the interesting conversations I enjoy reading them even if I can't fix em any more.

keeping the 59
I'll be 77 in September and enjoy working on my 59 more than shows and/or tours. Not tired of it after 20 years. It's all about using a lift to work on different problems and the chance to relax with a beer while listening to Pink Floyd. The hobby is more important than driving a newer model. Keeping me fit. 59 navy
