Default C3 Shifter - New Chrome

Had this handle rechromed for a restoration then realized it was C3, not C2. Levers have been refinished black oxide. Lockout is used in good condition. Chrome is triple plate and excellent. Offering at $150 plus shipping from zip 23060, under what I have invested in it. Will need initial lubrication. I just put never seize to assemble and it is tight.

Chroming of components is exceptionally high adding to the restoration cost(s) of our vehicles. Great looking shift lever Pops!

The EPA and tree huggers really put a dampner on chrome plating, that's for sure. Its a hazzard for sure, and poisonous...but like everything the government touches, its over regulated and a PITA. In the early 80's I had a lot of parts chromed for my lifted F250, including the Dana 70 rear end housing and cover, front Dana 60 housing and cover, front and rear drivelines, 18 Rancho 5000 shocks, a triple show bar (like a roll bar, not welded therefore its not a structure piece) with double kickers that extended to the tailgate, and a bunch of stuff from inside the cab like the ash tray and glove box door. It was less than $500 for everything but the show bar, it ran me $300 but it is HUGE. Everything was triple plated and beautiful. I still have the truck and unfortunately I've had it parked outside the past 8 years and the show bar is still beautiful with zero rust. The shocks havent faired as well...oh well. After that I had many parts off my 65 Mustang plated, around 1988. Things were much higher but still well worth having oem parts rechromed or plated for the first time.

Anyway...my point being is that the shop that did all of this for me had been open since the 60's, once on the EPA radar their prices doubled several times until they finally closed up by 1992. Several other shops in the state closed up in the following years, and for the past 20 years the only option in 4 surrounding states has been Ogden Chrome. They have a truck that travels through the state from Pocatello (2 hrs North of Ogden) to Boise (5+ hours Northwest of Ogden)...but their prices are stupid expensive. I've set up my own plating for nickel and also have an system in my shop for cold bluing / black oxide coating parts and hardware, fortunately those can be done reasonably and without spending the grandkids inheritance like having things chromed professionally.
