I love mine. Actually have two. One car capsule and one bike capsule.
I live on 5 acres in the country and have an open carport instead of a garage. The capsules keep my vehicle dirt and critter free.
I initially bought one of the standard models for my C7 but quickly found out my badly arthritic knees would be a problem squatting down to zip and unzip it. I took the plunge and bought one of the more expensive free standing models and its been worth every penny!
If you dont have a bad back or knees the standard model works just fine though.
Best i remember it was around $1800. I did a 24 months no intrest on it.
Setting it up is no more than laying it out, hooking up the air pump, and turning it on. It sets itself up.
is yours the clear see thru one...i have a carport and looking to do the same....it seems to be labeled as indoor...how is yours holding up under the carport...

My carport gets a lot of sun and i got a little concerened about premature aging of the clear vinyl(?) so i put several tarps up to block the morning and afternoon sun. No problems so far. I do have to clean the fan filter more often since its exposed to more pollen and dust being outside. About twice a year i clean off the top of it with a microfiber mop just to keep it looking nice. Works great.
Can you work on the car inside the capsule? I could see this being useful for mobile detailers who do ceramic coatings.
You can. Its a little tight on the sides but ive detail sprayed and wiped my whole car inside the capsule before. Plenty of room at the front and back. I actually keep storage containers at the front of the capsule with my cleaning and detailing supplies and still have room to walk. If you dont have a garage there's just no downside to it. I live in Louisiana in the countryside and we have every kind of critter imaginable. Its a comfort knowing my car will have no surprises waiting for me.
I rarely drop in to Car Care but.... I've had two Capsules and loved both of them. First one was the standard inflatable. Worked fantastic protecting my BB '66 from field mice, dust, bugs, and corrosion during winter storage. While backing out in Spring 2021 my side pipe snagged on the zipper unbeknownst to me (zipper lost to BB). Second one I decided to splurge on the one with the inflatable frame...... REALLY LOVE IT! I fought condensation and mice here in lower Tennessee. If you can swing like mine below you'll love it, but less expensive works just as well. No reason to store the capsule away now in Springtime. For just winter storage the low price one works just as well as mine. But this is perfect for me. Our home is surrounded by fields full of mice. Due to lake season boating, she hasn't been driven in months and she looks perfect. Really hard to believe how simple it is and how well it works. Six Star Review. Larry
Im strongly considering going this route this winter. I have to do rust remediation work on my truck's frame and now I have the ridiculously good paint job on the car. So I may cover it and get a capsule to keep some positive pressure.

Besides the Car Capsule I keep my Vette in, I have a Bike Capsule that houses my Harley Fat Bob. I also have a ladder and air compressor stored inside of it with the bike. We have a bad problem with wasps building nests on anything left outside. I'm highly allergic to wasp stings and got popped on the chest a few years ago opening an outside tool chest.
The Bike and Car Capsule even keeps wasps and other bugs out. If it will do that it will keep almost anything away from your car. It's worth it.
I know this is an old thread but haven't found much more current. I'm looking to do something more this winter in the way of storage. Curious if any body has a couple years using their Car Capsule and their opinion on how it's holding up after a couple years.

4.5 years on my two capsules and havent even had to replace a fan or filter yet. After a quick wipedown both look like new. Both of mine are outside under an open carport, exposed to wind and seasonal temperature changes. I love them.

This is really good to know. Was wondering how well they held up.

They are very sturdy. They make an oitdoor model that is super heavy duty but very expensive. Since i had a roof over mine i chose to go with the indoor model and have no problems at all. I dont even get any bugs inside of it and Louisiana is a bug paradise.

I’m considering getting one of these to keep my ‘70 bb in when it’s at the jersey shore (inside a garage) I’m very concerned about the humidity there. Did -or anyone else here.- use it in a high humidity area to prevent rust and corrosion?
thanks!

I'm in Louisiana and the climate is EXTREMELY humid most of the year. I keep a small shop fan (the little compact models that have a handle on top and extra plug in outlets on the side) inside both my car and bike capsule right up front. I plug my battery maintainers into the fan also.
With the vette i let the fan blow underneath the car from front to back. The air bounces off the rear of the capsule and moves around the entire car. Everything stays nice and dry.
The real test is the Harley which has so much exposed metal and hardware. It is a 2009 model and also looks like new.
After a wipedown both capsules look like the day i got them and its been 6 years now. All ive done is replace one filter.

Thank you very much! This is super helpful.
How often to you pull the vette in and out off the capsule? I'd be taking it out multiple times per weekend over the summer/fall. Do you think that would be an issue (I only ask because it seems like the capsules are more long term storage)?
Also, is your garage finished at all (ceiling, walls, epoxy floor)? And are you inland or coastal? One of my concerns is the salt air in the coastal town I'd be keeping the car in.
Thanks again!
