Default ECL Code 1966

On a 66, what is the AA for after the trim code? It’s 414AA, I know it bright blue but where my research is confusing me is a coupe vs convertible. Meaning, car is convertible and searching leads me to believe AA is a two top car. But then I saw coupe trim tags with AA also. How could a coupe have a C07?

I guess the question is, what does AA include or exclude on a December 27 1965 convertible?

Thank you

St Louis 3 digit RPO paint code numbers are followed by "AA"

It’s not the paint code. Trim code, left side of the tag. It is a St Louis car.

On some cars you see letters behind the trim code that is for exclusions, or what’s included.

AA looks like two tops while BA means C07 only, no soft top. Trying to confirm I’m on the right track.

AA means no exceptions or no deviations from base model

Or would that mean the BA would exclude soft top?

The decoder shows that information and date you gave was with a coupe, excluding p/w, p/g, hardtop, big tank, headrest, shoulder harness. The decoder shows no mention of a convertible with those numbers you provided. Are you sure about the body build date (D27) and St Louis build?

Thx. I need to stop staring at the screen. I had the 437 and 467 backwards. Sheesh. That’s why this wasn’t making sense.

I just found the decoder you mentioned too.

what's a 407CA ECL code mean?

Trim tag also suspect because D2 seems awfully late with the cars birthday plus that low serial number

From that bad picture do you have a better shot of the tag.

The DATE, BODY number, and VIN seem to line up fine for a 1966 St Louis body build.
(a 1966 AOS body build, would have different calculations)
