This is the generator that came with my 59 Corvette when I purchased it in 1973. The car was disassembled when I got it. I don't know if the generator was ever rebuilt or replaced prior to my ownership. I just had it professionally rebuilt locally. It may fit other cars and years too. I don't know much about these units. The brackets are right off my 59. They are original.
Rich says this is for a Chevy with a power steering pump. But I have been told it will work on a C1 for the tach. I am not sure at this point.

Yes, it'll work fine. The designers likely had a clearance spec, generator to the hood, that they had to follow. Just 1/4" lower, but it required different end frames.
I had a Pass car generator as a spare for my '59. It had provisions for the tach drive, same as the power steering setup.
Just so you know, what are the dimensions from center of shafts to the center of the mounts. They should be the same.

Yes, both end frames match, so they are equal distance from the center point. Good to know.
