How would a FBO, Cam, and 3200 stalled Grand Sport fare against a stock Hellcat? A gentleman I know asked if I would run him at the strip. I will be on a drag radial, he is 100% stock. I am asking more out of curiousity than anything. Thanks for the feedback.
My buddy has one, and his biggest problem on the street is traction. On the strip? That could be a whole different ballgame. I've driven his car, and it's a beast. Of course, my ZR1 (when I had it) would handily outrun it, but definitely not my Grand Sport. Best of luck.
I have not tracked this vehicle yet, which definitely puts me at a disadvantage. I have about 500 1/4 mile passes under my belt from my previous build, 01 Formula H/C/I/, stall, FBO. But it has been a few years. I definitely know how to launch a stalled LS, though.

Since your friend offered the challenge, I assume he may be frequenting the strip. So before accepting, I'd suggest you should refresh your launch skills with the current car. My previous Vette was good for 60's in 1.5's, but with no track experience with the newer one, a 2.0 might be tough.

A "stock" GS will lose that race, however with full bolt on's and a cam, along with the 3,200 stall converter, it would be a good race. The GS weighs 3,309lbs, and the Hellcat weighs 4,415 lbs.....and 1,100 lb difference. Weight to hp ratio is the key along with the launch as previously stated. Weight to hp ratio for the Hellcat is .160 for 10lbs. For the GS with cam, FBO, the hp would be about 510 (my estimate) and the weight to hp ratio is .154 for 10 lbs. It's close so the launch will be the key, and the drag radials could be the difference. Obviously, if you were at 540hp in the GS, your weight to hp ratio would be .165 for 10lbs. and with a good launch the GS would have the win putting everything in perspective. Let us know what happens.....I'd be very curious!

Thank you for the rundown of the numbers!
Car put down 455 RWHP after the cam and bolt ons. So that is around say 525 to the crank maybe?

Since you know your way down the 1/4 then you know it is all about the launch. A C6 is not an ideal 1/4 mile car, mainly due to the IRS, while the Hellkitty is. How much do you want to abuse your rear to get a good 60' time ?

Valid points. The Vette won’t see the track much. Maybe a handful of times per year. If the rear end blows, I guess I put a new one in. I believe my best 60’ with my Formula was 1.58 on a Nitto. Is that achievable in the Vette?
Really? How so? I thought that LS3 lost about 65 HP through an A6?
Thank you for the feedback!
The loss is a percentage. On the A6 I've read anywhere from 15%-20% driveline loss. I think yours would be closer to that 20% because if the looser converter but even at 15% loss you're almost at 550 crank hp, add in the converter and I think it's 575 easy.
