On my daily drivers I have been using the Delco replacements. The new models have that single blade look and I have found the GM blades last about a year when the other discount brands last about 6 months.
I really like the Rain-X ones and find Walmart is by far the cheapest. For years I ran Michelin from Costco but in comparison they are total trash. Kind of surprising since I like Michelin tires and pretty much everything else from Costco is good. I found they wore out quick and even when new just didn't wipe as cleanly as Rain-X. Fwiw, the Rain-X wipers don't really do the whole water-beading thing but they last quite a while without streaking and skipping.
I buy for the cheapest ones I can find. I do not drive in the rain and my C5 sits outside 24/7 subject to the degeneration of the wipers rubber from the sun that only last about a year until the rubber gets hard.
I’ve found that all of the fancier single beam blades have failed to clear the hood edge, leading to lower dollar units. Doesn’t bother me much, since it rains often here in central Florida. I just change them about every other month.
I'm also using the Rain-X blades. 2 months now, and I like them. Really, though, I'm not in the rain but maybe once every year or two. Mainly use them when using the windshield washers or after a powerwash at the local car wash.....
+1 on Bosch Icons. I started using them in winter on my Jeep a few years ago and am still on that set, though they are needing replacement soon. Now that I live in Florida obviously I do not need a winter blade, however seeing how well they performed in nasty ice, slush and snow and still perform great in heavy FL downpours I will put a set on the Vette as well.
Anyone have a preferred windshield wiper that they use on their C5 side by side accessories utv? Otherwise, I will just pickup whatever is on-sale at Advance Auto.
For a Citroën C5, Bosch Aerotwin and Valeo Silencio beam blades are the most commonly recommended and closest to OEM quality. They wipe smoothly, handle the curved screen well, and last longer than cheap sale brands. If you just want a budget option, anything beam-style will work, but the premium sets are usually worth it for performance and durability.
Tip: don't waste money on expensive SILICONE blades... they wipe water really well, but if you live where there's lots of bugs, they stink even when it's fresh bugs. Plain old rubber scrapes bugs off quickly.
Speaking of bugs, what's the last thing to go through a bugs mind before it hits your windsheild?.............
