It calls for 0-30. The car is modded and I was wanting to know what people are using as in brand of oil. Also, what weight are they using? Thank you for any feedback.
My owners manual states 5W-30. However, GM is currently recommending 0W-40, which would allow you to track your car without the need for changing the oil.
I am currenlty running a Mobil 1 0W-30. The reason for my preference is because 0W oil is thinner & better flowing (than 5W) while the engine is warming up.
I don't track my car. So, I don't see any reason to use 0W-40, which is double the cost.

I'm leaning towards switching back to 5W-30 at the next oil change. If/when I do so, I'll switch to Valvoline, which has been my life-long go-to brand.
So since I live in Dallas Texas area where it does get hot a lot and I do daily drive it and every once in a while and a street race it roll racing. Should I go to 0w40. Either mobile one, Amsoil, or red line. Or stay with 0w30

0W-40 at some point in the C7 generation became factory fill. I even start using 0W-40 in my 2011 ZR1 after I got my 2019 Z06 so that I could order and stock one oil for both. You will not go wrong with the 0W-30 but I would use the 0W-40 for the higher temp protection as long as you are not trying to get over 10k miles between oil changes or exceed the OLM.

Royal Purple HPS 10W-40 in the Z06's LT4 and I also use this oil my Camaro's LT1.
Living in Las Vegas and with both cars garage-kept, I don't have to be too concerned about cold temperatures or cold start-ups.
I think I will use the Redline 0w40. I’ve always use the red line product and even my engine builders on my race cars like red line they also recommended Motul also. What does everybody think about the redline product?
Dude, you will get so many differing opinions on this. If you asked what do people think about Mobile 1, there will be a few that hate it for whatever reason. Just find something that meets Dexos 2 specs (or Dexos 1 if you don't care that much) and go with it.
I just switched to 0W-40 on my last change and I will be switching back to regular 5W-30 due to it being readily available in normal stores and available in 5qt containers
The 0W-40 was only available by mail order in ten individual quart containers, plus it costs way more
I don't track so it seemed like a waste of time and money and giving up convenience for basically no benefit

Dexos 1 is currently available in Gen 2 and Gen 3 formulations. Either is acceptable for your Corvette.
Dexos 2 is generally intended for diesel engines. It is being phased out and will be replaced by Dexos D
I have been using Mobil One 5w30 ever since I bought my 2016 Stingray in 2016. That is what the owner's manual calls for. So far, so good. I am getting ready to change it later this month and will be doing the same thing again.
You make it sound like Dexos 2 isn't for corvettes, maybe unintentionally. Dexos 2 is the spec for Mobile 1 that GM recommended in the Service Bulletin in 2018. Now that I look closer at it, I realize that the Supercar version that is now recommended is just Dexos. So I guess I should say, use an oil that meets GM specs (whatever they are) and pick whatever brand you like.

I believe that when the 2018 Service Bulletin was issued, GM was recommending the Mobil 1 0W-40 ESP Dexos 2 oil for Corvettes. Since that time, Mobil 1 has classified the oil as their European car formula, and has added the newer 0W-40 Supercar Dexos R that GM is now recommending for our cars.
In my opinion, if you don't track your car, it doesn't really matter which Dexos-certified oil you use as long as you change it at the recommended intervals. Use whatever you're comfortable with. I corresponded directly with Mobil 1 regarding how I use my car. We mutually agreed that Mobil 1 Dexos 1 0W-30 was a good choice for my Corvette. However, since my last oil change, I'm leaning towards going back to 5W-30 because of what I've been reading from non-biased oil experts. See my post #4 above.
