Morning CF!
Quick question for the pros here to confirm if the convenience lights in the trunk area eventually turn off when I have the battery maintainer plugged in and the hatch is down in the first latch position? I a not overly concerned as the car is connected to the battery tender, but curious if the lights eventually go off. I think I have I seen the lights still on when looking into the hatch area after a few minutes but didn't worry about it. I also tried fully latching down the hatch but it does pinch the cord more than it probably should.
Appreciate the knowledge and have a great weekend!
The lights turn off after several minutes, so no issue leaving the hatch gently closed, but not latched. Alternately, while the cord is trapped by the hatch seal, it is not pinched/damaged, so no issue closing and latching the hatch.
Is there a reason you guys are not closing the hatch completely?
No particular reason. It’s just easier to lift up the hatch without having to pop the button on my fob or opening from the hatch area or the inside. It’s always in my garage with the battery tender plugged in and the lights go out anyway so it really doesn’t matter to me.It always seems like I’m going in there for one reason or another just easier to lift up
They turn off after a while. I use a Battery Tender Plus and don't even latch the hatch, just lower it. Thing I like is if I get in it without removing the plug and closing it up, it reminds me.
