Default C6 aftermarket steering wheels

Looking to buy a new steering wheel for my 06' C6. Looking for pictures, opinions on $250 dollar wheels vs $1000 wheels (worth the extra money?) Any experience you had while changing it (things to look out for?) I don't have any carbon fiber interior or exterior trim, so need to decide whether to get a carbon fiber or non carbon wheel. I would just like to get a wheel that has a flat bottom with the red centered line at top , and also a decent price that won't break the bank. Thanks!

Default $250 from Ebay

I can say this style of wheel is what GM should have put on the C6 corvettes from the factory. The look and the feeling when driving is 100x better than stock. I know it's placebo, but it sure feels like she drives better and handling improved. I should have done this mod a long time ago.

The repsol ones look decent and cheap. I get a little scared of chicom wheels though after seeing Donut media ripping one in half showing the “stability” of them and thinking of that puncturing my lung god forbid I get into an accident.
The thumb rests are a little wide for my liking too, so I just went with a 12/13 OEM unit

Everyone has a preference. My only advice would be don't get fake carbon fiber. This wheel came from vq carbon customs 2 years ago. It cost 1k. There are more options available now and I wouldn't spend this type of money again because of cheaper options. I'm personally not a fan of the revesol wheels. I don't like how the side grips on the wheel extend into the top of the wheel, but to each their own. Plenty of options to choose from.

I installed a Revesol all leather wheel recently. Steering wheel frame appeared basically the same as oem, install was very easy, stock wheel came off without using a puller. Happy with the wheel, I like the look a lot better than the oem.

Racer, I like the all leather wrap you have. How does it feel on the grips? Did you not like the carbon fiber wheel? Or did you buy the leather one first? Thanks, and do you have it in the for sale section? If not can you post a pic?

I am probably in a minority but I am not a carbon fiber guy and wanted to keep a round steering wheel. I saw the work that Vasily does on wheels and airbag covers at RFE Design. He did not have an offering for a round wheel so I conacted him and asked if he would make a round wheel that had the same characteristics of his flat bottom offering. We worked it out and I am more that happy with my purchase and as far as I know I am the only one with this setup. Mine is all all smooth leather and probably a bit understated but exactly what I wanted. Cost was around a 1K but I have never looked back.

hard to tell if this post is for me, however i liked the wheel quite a bit. I swapped it out for a sparco wheel with a quick release as the car is being used mostly for track events.

Currently working on an interface box to make something like this work on the C6 and retain all the steering wheel controls for things like cruise, audio, phone, and tap to shift.

Sorry El_Steveo, yes was meant for you. I thought it was racer lol. You mentioned without the airbag. Does that mean my existing one won't work?

I got my Revesol wheel installed last month. Still have yet to get the car out and try it out LOL. While I had everything apart I did the F1 mod so ill have to get used to that. I went with the non Carbon one only to reduce the chance of sun glair off the gloss. Other than that I love the look of the carbon one

Here's my vote toward the Revesol wheel. I'd love an RFE wheel but that wasn't in the cards for me at the time. And now I think I'd rather spend the extra $800 on Morimoto tails, save for forced induction, etc.

Save up your pennies and get a wheel from RFE. It doesn't have to cost an arm & a leg, he has many options. I've had 2 RFE wheels, an all leather and my current Alcantara & carbon fiber. I prefer Alcantara to leather & have a custom Alcantara wheel coming for my new M2 (another vendor).

I like the idea of a flat bottom steering wheel but I really don't find any of those attractive. Over done IMO. Stock wheel and a new cover from wheelskins is in my future I guess.

MakoShark, at least do yourself a favor and get a cover from Redline. I have one that I put on my stock wheel before getting the Revesol wheel. I installed it myself so it's not perfect, but I still like it over stock, and way more over what I see on the Wheelskins site. Only thing I don't like about the Revesol wheel is the stitching is gray and doesn't match the "Medium Blue" stitching I got on all of my pieces from Redline.

I looked at the Redline site and I like that their cover replaces the stock leather instead of going over it. I could go that way when the time comes.

Thankyou so much everyone for your pictures and advice! I think I will go with Revesol wheel mainly because of looks and price. The red stich and stripe I don't think will contrast well with my Monterey red accents and cashmere interior I have, so going with the black leather and gray stich. My only decision left would be to spend the extra $30 for the Alcantara wheel.

Update: Installed my new Revsol wheel this morning and absolutely love it. Took me about an hour. My stock wheel was on pretty tight so had to rent a puller. Other than that, I think it's a great mod and great value for $259
