Extended warranties? Ask yourself this question " Do you feel lucky? Well, do ya"?

I have mine through Endurance. No need for a claim yet so can’t comment on how that process will play out.

If your car has a warranty, you can purchase an extended warranty. If your car is out of warranty, you can not purchase an extended warranty. I spoke to D.F. and this is what he told me

That isn't quite correct unless things changed since April 7th. I purchased the "Chevrolet Protection Plan" for out of warranty vehicles on April 5th. Dennis said he can sell this plan for out of warranty cars (like mine) that are 2017 or newer. Dennis also said he is one of the few dealerships that can sell the plan. I checked with Todd Sutherland at MacMulkin Chevrolet and he confirmed that the plan is legitimate and said GM won't let MM sell the plan and he didn't have any plan he could sell me. Todd said to contact Dennis, which I had already done, because he is one of the few honest sellers out there. I had to to take the car to a local Chevy dealer and have a Corvette Tech complete a 5 page inspection checklist. Both he and the dealership had to sign the report. The dealership was convinced they could sell me a policy so I sat down with the finance manager and let him try. He was unable to find a policy for me. Once I had the inspection report, I emailed it to Dennis and provided my credit card. The inspection cost me $185.

I have CarShield but you should check with your local dealers to make sure they accept the policy you buy. The dealership that is aligned with my corvette club does not accept CarShield. No big deal for me as i can use another local dealer that does.

When I purchased my 2014 from a local dealer they offered an extended warranty package. The coverage is said to be very extensive; fortunately, I've not had to use it.
I think of the extended warranty as an insurance program, and as such I purchased mine largely for failures of the driveline or electrical components.
While giving consideration to these warranty programs, keep in mind that they are a revenue product for the dealer, and as such are negotiable.
Good luck with the decision..

How do you think Car Shield recently bought one of Taylor Swift's two private jets when she decided that the hypocrisy of talking about climate change was a little much for an owner of two private jets, so she downsized to just one.
(I'm not making that up either BTW, Car Shield did actually buy one of her private jets and she is in fact a massive hypocrite)

They'd lower it to almost anything because any amount of money is still all profit
That's basically how you know it's a total scam when they hawk it that hard and won't stop hounding you

I've purchased two extended GM warranties (for two used Corvettes) through Ken Fichtner. Both paid for themselves.
In 2012 (nine years after the production date) I purchased a 100,000mi 7-year warranty on a c5 z06 with ~26,000 miles. When things go bad, they go bad big. (The "100,000 miles" is calculated from the mileage on the car when I purchased it.) Harmonic balancer, half-shaft, and leaking transmission (to help pay for 4.11s and clutch work) in the c5 z06. All work done at >108,000; the "leaking" transmission did leak (barely sometime after 2017) but I waited on fixing it until I needed a new clutch in late 2019.
I bought a second policy from Fichtner in 2015 for a 2014 c7 z51--same terms. It paid for 4 new wheels in 2018 ("out of OEM warranty"), a belt tensioner replacement and 4 new magnetic shocks. Total, worth ~$1100 more than the insurance policy cost.

We have a GM plan on our 2017 that expires in January 2025.
About 2 months ago, I called Dennis Fitchner about getting something to extend or replace that plan.
He said that because our car has over 45k miles, there is no GM plan available for us. Nada, nope, zilch.

That's how Endurance is. They remind me my car will break with frequent emails every week with different deals going on.

I bought a 5 year Endurance . It’s $149/mo but only for the first 3 years. Last two years are “free”. Includes towing etc. You can bargain with them. Gives me piece of mind. Dropping valves, torque tubes, Infotainment display etc.
