AWE Track caused CEL and dead battery
Hello,
After a shop installed AWE Track for a C8 Corvette I got the check engine light. The next day, the battery was dead. I jumped the battery, the car started, and CEL disappeared. I am not sure what is going on. AWE promised no CEL. and why would the battery die after a new exhaust? Please help.

Without a DTC code, its hard to diagnose what caused the dead battery. You can take it back to the shop and ask the tech what steps they took to install - that would help in troubleshooting. But if no more CEL and the car is starting fine, I wouldn't worry too much and just monitor as needed.

I think it was, in actuality, something wonky the shop worker(s) did with or to something else in the process of installing the exhaust. This would hardly be a first.

Hey OP, if you are not already in contact with our customer support team drop them a line here ASAP: AWE Support
They are definitely going to need to see the codes its throwing so we can determine the cause of that CEL, but they can assist in getting to the bottom of what is going on.
If you have any questions or need any assistance with the form, feel free to shoot me a PM and I am happy to help.

You can still buy cheap code readers for $35, read the code, look code up on interweb, erase code if desired. I bring mine along on trips.

This is Chevy's way of telling you not to mess around with a well-designed product

This is from the tech "Did you order directly from the AWE website?
It’s setting codes for all 4 of the exhaust valve simulators now.
We removed one to check it out. All appears to be okay with it.
I called AWE to start a warranty claim. They ask on the worksheet where it was purchased.
They will cover parts. Im not sure they will cover labor being an aftermarket company. I’ll keep you updated on what they cover and what the do not."

The odds of 4 valve sims being bad has to be astronomical.
I wonder if a wire harness wasn't zip tied out of the way and made contact with a hot exhaust pipe or something.
I have the AWE track and 4 sims and no cel.
GL with the fix!
