Painting the caliper bracket?

I agree that it looks better when the bracket is painted to match the caliber.
Do you guys paint your calibers on the car or do you take them completely off? If you take them off, do you worry about bleeding the brakes? I've been looking through the forums a bit and see that some people seem to think that you'll destroy your car if you remove the calipers and an air bubble gets into the system. Not sure where that mentality comes from other than someone who didn't properly have the brake system bled after being worked on. Am I wrong in thinking this?

I painted mine without removing them. I used a duplicolor kit with brush on paint.
I agree that there's nothing wrong with removing the calipers as long as you get it properly bled.

I have used the por-15 brake kits a few times. The glass stays gloss for a long time which I though was impressive on brakes.

Nothing wrong with removing the calipers. I removed mine to send them for powder coating, which made it a good opportunity to rebuild them with new seals. You'll obviously need to bleed all 4 calipers once you reinstall them, which has always been easy enough for me, even doing it solo.

Looks great -- did you mask off the "CORVETTE" lettering or just sand it after painting? I haven't decided which method would be easier. Mainly because I suck at doing a good job of masking.

Just put brakes on mine. Need to do this as well. Hopefully this weekend. I'll paint everything to match. Wanted to get powder coated calipers and brackets from tps motorsports to do an exchange and avoid down time. They couldn't be bothered to return emails so I'll do it myself.

When I did mine I just wiped off the corvette letters while it was still wet
When I painted the calipers I removed the calipers for a more detailed job. Bleeding the brakes is easy but it is a two person job unless you purchase speed bleeders for about $7 each.

I paint the bracket black so it really doesn't show.

I did not disconnect the caliper from the brake line but did remove it from the bracket. I then cleaned it with a nylon brush attachment on my drill. I then tapped everything up that I didn't want paint on, and layed a piece of cardboard on the floor and painted. I used a razor blade to remove the paint from the lettering afterwards.

I painted my front calipers. They came out real good. With a new G2 can , can I touch up my original job where I missed a spot. In other words can I put another coat on after the original coat already cured? Thanks
