Rejoining The Z06 Family?
I'll neither confirm nor deny that a Red Mist Z07 HTC will be ordered for me shortly. The Blackwing is hysterically fun to drive, but I belong in a Corvette.
Maybe. ;-)

I could not bring myself to sell the BW… it is the perfect pick the kids up from school after work car.
congrats on the Z06. Mine just arrived this week. Very different car from the SR, C7Z cars, and BW…

It's cute guys, but as I stated: I can't afford both, and won't be doing both. The 5BW is already sold.
I'm glad your financial status is better off than mine is. As you were.

Didn't see your second post - my bad... It was not the intent. Unless one has a last name of Musk, Gates, etc there is always someone with "more"....but I'm sure you know that as much as I do. Enjoy the new Z06.

Happy for you…
I know you were very disappointed by GM’s late decision to raise MSRP by 20k additional on the Z06 and it soured you on getting one, even though you clearly wanted one. I totally understand that, and although I too thought it was a blatant money grab, when they saw what people were paying over MSRP for base C8 for years, they knew they had us… sadly.. I had pre ordered years earlier with MM was 301 on their list long before anyone knew the price. Although I didn’t like it, no way was I cancelling my order even though this is the most expensive car I have ever purchased, by a wide, wide, margin, and I am not independently wealthy. It was just a dream car for me, and although I have owned a C5, C6, C7, C7 Z07, and in aug of 2023 I got my Z06 from MM. Sticker came in at 157k for my non Z07 HTC configured as I want it. Fortunately I had been using a GM card those entire 3 years and had accumulated an incredible 2,100,000 points which translated into 21k off sticker!! I was getting 4% on all purchases with no limit so I ended up paying 136k in real money. Still a ton, but wow is this car truly, truly, special, I know its a lot of money, but it is worth every penny. Their is a reason so many multi car exotic owners, many of whom would never glance in a corvettes direction, not only have purchased one, but their written reviews testify this car is as good or better in every measurable way for 1/2 the money or even more than 1/2 of those exotics…
I really struggled with my color choice as Red MIst is SUCH a beautiful color, it came down to that or silver flair, and shockingly I went with the Silver. I do not regret my decision, but I do love, love, love, the red mist. I just had the car out on VIR for the second time, the best compliment I can pay this car is, it is SOOOOOO much fun to drive, the sound of the engine, while fun on the street, is INTOXICATING on a race track! For the first time, I don’t even care what my lap times are, I am a 55 year old man grinning from ear to ear inside my helmet like a child… corvettes have always sounded good, but this is more akin to F1 high revving INSTANTANEOUS upshifts and downshifts, I don’t even bother shifting myself (I always owned manuals before in all of my corvettes and was worried I would miss rowing the gears as that was part of the fun for me) but no, driving this beast is that engaging… this is my forever car..
I was second fastest in the intermediate group 2 days ago and that was on stock ps4s tires and no track alignment! Drove 1 1/2 to the track and drove it home, no truck, no trailer, and loved putting the hard top down with a touch of a button and enjoyed the beautiful rolling hills on the drive back to Apex NC from the track. I know the ZR1 with the turbos is coming (don’t care, have had TT C6 APS vette before, kills the sound, all turbo cars do) and I will never as a driver, reach the limits of this car on track, that much is clear to me now…
I know you have been a long time contributor to this board with some good information over the years, so I am so happy for you that you are getting the car you wanted all along. We can’t control what we can’t control. You will be pleased. Please post up lots of pics when you get the car, and when you get it out on track as, post up your impressions. Just for shi** and giggles, here is a few pics of mine, as well as some of the other cars at the track day,
now with 4000 trouble free miles and a couple of amazing track days under my belt…

I'm still not 100% sure on that FPC V8 as I'm not keen on them in general. But I suspect I'll be able to get over it.
