Default Replacement Die 2 Transmission Pan/Gasket on national backorder?

I bought a 2020 C8 with 12k miles in March. I had the local dealer add the extra two quarts of fluid to the DCT about a week after I bought it. A couple weeks ago I was cleaning the wheels and found that there was a ring of oily/gritty material on the inside of the rear wheels. I assumed that it was bad CV boots and immediately called and scheduled an appointment at the dealer to have it checked out. They said they looked it over and the oil is coming from the transmission pan and that it will be replaced under warranty (Awesome!) but they are currently on national backorder (not so awesome). They told me that it could be 10-30 days before they are available. They also recommended that I not drive the car until the pan has been replaced. Uggg.

I did some research and it looks like I need the following parts:
24046450 Transmission pan. Cast for Die 2 transmissions.
24048642 Transmission pan gasket.

Anyone have any insight as to when these might actually be available?

Thanks,

Chris

The service center that I used said they have a network that they put pings out for parts that are needed. I was told almost all of the parts that were needed to replace the transmission valve body on my 24 2LT were on backorder with no ETA, however their network was able to source the parts from other locations.

8463690 Control Valve replacement:
11 - 19418016 Fluid
1 - 24045729 Filter
1 - 24299343 Gasket
15 - 24045737 Bolt
1 - 24047742 Filter
1 - 24059078 Body - was told a service center in North Carolina responded to the APB and had this next day air to PA
1 - 24048642 Gasket - the part you mentioned, was found in Florida 10 days after I had dropped the car off, next day air on 5/9

I can't tell if this information helps you at all, but maybe some insight on how it was solved. Good luck to you, I know how frustrating it can be.

GM sucks. They care nothing about supporting the customers who make them profitable. I think the C8 will be my last GM product.

Something specific spark this or are you just in general fed up?

Unfortunately, if you look around here you'll see parts availability is an ongoing issue... if knowing you are hardly alone helps at all. Hopefully, yours won't take as long as some report. All the best.

CAINCA, you are likely aware of the change in pans but I thought I would throw this out to add clarity to the progression of pan designs. Good luck with your repair.

Yesterday I called Chevy parts online to see if they could tell me when the pans would be back in stock. They escalated the inquiry and told me that they would get back to me in 5-7 business days. I got a call back today and they said they don't have any ETA. The lady I talked to gave me the number for GM Customer Service. After a couple transfers a really nice lady took all of my information and then started a service request with the local area manager. She told me I should hear back from them in 2-3 business days.

Thankfully, the car is still under the factory powertrain warranty. Hopefully that will help expedite the process.

Good news: Apparently the transmission pan/gasket/bolts were delivered to the dealer yesterday. I called my service advisor and he hadn't even been notified yet. They are backed up so my install appointment is a couple weeks out.
