Ramps get the car high enough to jack up and set on jack stands. Pretty tight under there.

I used Rhino Ramps on my C5s, but another very good choice is Race Ramps. Quick Jack is another good quality system.

I have Race Ramps with the low approach accessory. The thing I like about them is on top of using them on the Vette, I use them on my Grand Cherokee, my Colorado, my girlfriends Toyota, and my John Deere. Easy to store and light. I agree with the buy once and cry once. It only hurt a little.....Ken

You need something pretty low profile.
1) helper ramps + jacks
2) race ramps
3) quickjacks
Helper ramps are by far the cheapest. Downside is it is a lot more work to get the car up. FWIW the c5 needs to be level or tilt forward to drain oil, which makes ramps not as attractive. Race ramps are stupid expensive for what they are. I also don't think they give much more utility than the super cheap helper ramps due to the oil drain issue. Quickjacks are the clear way to go if you plan on doing your own work more than occasionally. Lifts your car flat. You have access to everything and enough room to tackle big jobs like transmission, torque tube, etc.

I have has the smaller Race Ramps but skipped them for the C5. I have several jacks and jack stands and just put the car in the air.
I have a set of Cheap Summit Ramps that are good for just a quick deal.
The trouble with Race Ramps are they tilt the car the wrong way for oil changes. Also for a C5 to get the right ones they take up a lot of space for storage.
Race Ramp is a good product but I just did not want to lose the space they took up in storage.
I have two aluminum race jacks and one old cast jack that lift the car high up on the stands I have.
Might look at a Quick Jack someday.

ANY ramp tilts the car the wrong way for an oil change. Can be remedied by driving car up on front ramps then jacking up back of the car till flat and putting it on jack stands. Even setting up the quick jacks is not the most pleasant (just heavy to maneuver) for a simple oil change. If only GM put the drain plug on the BACK of the oil pan LOL.
It is just as easy to put the car in the air and do it right. Ramps are not my first go to.
Now on my Fiero the V6 drains to the front and the need to back up. Ramp works out on it. But the Jack is still easier.

Melting Slicks
This. I have ramps and a QuickJack. I also have the RaceRamps wheel cradles that work with wheel dollies so I can move the car around without needing to put it on the ground.

Not really just depends on the pan and the location. The wife's SUV and my truck both will drain fine on a ramp but I don't need them since they are higher up to start.

ANY car with a drain plug in the back or even sides normally is no issue using ramps.
