Bartallama3D radar detector mount
Saw this on Facebook and decided to give it a try as my generic mount I bought on Amazon was starting to have issues sitting straight. It's a 3D printed piece that you can buy different versions of for various detectors. I've got the Uniden R3 and it's fits my detector like a glove. Sits perfectly level and straight on the Infotainment screen and seems very stable. If you really wanted to make it solid, I guess you could use a small piece of 3M double sided tape to secure it, but I like being able to remove it, which could be very useful if you have multiple C8s, trade or want to remove for track days. It does sit slightly higher than my old mount, but it doesn't interfere with the view of the road (pic is taken lower than eye level).
Here's the new mount:
Versus how my old mount was set up.
I just installed one for the Valentine 1v2 and it works great. I just draped the cord over the side to the plug, and it’s not noticeable. No need for a mirror tap and easily removable to hide it away. Two thumbs up!
Bart just now has Uniden R4 mounts available.
Sometimes simplicity is the best approach and this is a perfect example.
Good things:
The mount is small, light, has no moving parts to adjust and is only $30.
You simply slide your detector in and set the mount on the top of the screen. Done. The mount doesn't slide due to a grippy foam pad that touches the back of the screen. The weight of the detector keeps it in place unless you are doing Dukes of Hazzard jumps and then it would be the least of your worries. You can choose anywhere from just right of the volume **** to the end.
Not in the way of the widow sun screens I like to use.
In one motion you can grab it and have it in the seat if you wanted.
It does not block any of my view, power cable is easy to run and I don't have to lean way forward to reach buttons on the detector.
I was almost ready to bite the bullet and pay $270 for a well machined monstrosity with a bunch of moving parts and adjustments that would block some of my view and is much slower to remove. The only advantage for me would be the higher mounting position but I've tried high vs low and the R4 detects good enough for me on the screen.
Very happy I tried Bart first!

Great price for what it is, but low position blocks RDs equipped with a rear antenna. I too dont want to spend the money on a Blendmount….

V1g2 here. .. Even cheaper to use the visor mount and $15 (for three) mirror tap from Amazon...... and a hat...... .. No unsightly wires, no blocking of windscreen, invisible from outside.

I've been running my R3 on top of the Infotainment screen like this for 2 years, and it still picks up fairly well from the rear. The rear window on the HTC is so small that it's going to have some blockage no matter where you put it. That's also one reason I don't bother with directional arrow units. Plus, even if it's rear view is completely blocked, you'll still get reflected signal off things in front of you (vehicles, signs, etc).

Then this post isn't for you, it's for folks who want it mounted in this location.
I ordered one. I hate wires dangling and I don’t want to use a mirror tap so this is a good option for me. The only question will be will it work with the ProClip phone mount. Looks like it will work.

On the FB post where I originally found it, someone said they didn't think it would work with the ProClip.
After looking at my ProClip phone mount and how this product connects to the C8 Infotainment Screen, I would agree that they are NOT compatible with each other. It does not appear to have the necessary room behind the screen for this radar mount to fit with the ProClip installed.

A hat?
The visor mount works well, unless you have a passenger who wants to flip the visor down.

The pro clip mount works with the radar mount, no issue.
Since others have posted options, this is an alternative I'm using with my E-Ray. No special mount needed just some 3M Dual Lock. To hide the wires and to not have any interference with a passengers legs, use this flush mount 90 degree plug and hide all wires until they come out at the windshield.
If interested, this is the flush mount right angle plug.
I purchased 2, one for my Uniden R8 and another for my Escort Redline 360C. They are available from several online sources. This is a link to the original purchase point. Click on Products button to view other detector mounts.

Update on the Bartallama3D mount, I found an issue with it: if you swap to an E-Ray, it can launch hard enough to consistently throw the mount and detector off the screen. Did one launch in Tour at 2.7sec 0-60 indicated on the dash and it was fine. Launched in Sport in Competition mode and got a 2.4 and it launched the detector and mount right off the screen. Tried it again getting a 2.5 and it did the same thing again. I’m going back to fixed mount with magnet for the detector to attach to (already have a plate on it), but I’m sure you could use some Velcro to hold the mount in place and still be removable.
Standard Velcro will probably be enough but their Extreme Lock type is even better. It is a pin to pin lock rather than hook to fabric. Years back I used it to hold a Garmin Street Pilot (old big gps) on my off road motorcycle with success.
I contacted the seller and he thought it would not work with the ProClip. Good to see that some owners have been able to use it with the ProClip.
However, I really prefer the mirror mount option so I can use a mirror tap. Like some, I also flinched at the price of a Blendmount so ended up with a set-up by RADAR MOUNT. Also used their mirror tap.
