Hey Corvette owners!
What is your go-to cleaning and detailing setup for your ride? Looking for recommendations on both interior and exterior care - what works best for you? Any products brands to avoid?
This is a topic that will generate hundreds of opinions . Everyone will have a favorite and everyone will tell you that their favorites are the best.
Here are what I have used and have liked the results in no particular order.
Zeke already stated it and correctly. It really all boils down to what you are trying to accomplish, how much time/money you want to invest, the frequency of maintaining you want to perform. It might be easier to list things. Remember this though, first don;t buy into marketing hype. Stay far away from these so called wonder products on social media. They are more marketing than performance. Secondly, what works on one area of the country will not perform the same elsewhere. Besides driving mileage, weather and industrial proximity conditions take a toll. Many product will perform decently. They may cost much less, but they won’t last as long.
You may need to try several to find what works best for you and what you are facing. I have never been “one product fits all” as they do not. Even on thesame brand, year and model of car, I will use varying products to yield the results needed.
One brand I would say to stay away form as a wholeis Chemical Guys. They have some ok products, but they have a lot of overlap and perform at justan an ok level.
Now if you want to answer those couple questions- and post some detailed pics, we could narrow down some choices
Many of us have a cabinet full of various detailing products. I know my collection goes back ten years or so, some of it has been delegated down to the wife's daily driver until those products are used up. With the introduction of all the ceramic based products brings a whole new level of high-end detailing products. Before investing in a bunch of internet wonder products take the advice of the experienced detailers here on the forum and shop at the major suppliers. You may want to look at Esoteric, Adams, AutoGeek, or The Rag Company, these suppliers offer high-end tried and true products.
As others have said, it comes down more to personal preference and what works for YOU...given your workflow, how much time/effort you want to put in, how often you want to do it, where you live, expectations, how much of a perfectionist you are...etc.. You will get literally hundreds of different responses, but IMO what I would stay clear of is anyone stating the this line (fill in the blank) is best. People that make statments like that are almost always either getting some type of financial kick back and/or have never used other products.
All of that said I use (for the most part) 5 companies.
Car Pro - Pre Wash (higher PH) , regular shampoo, Spray on/off Ceramic (Si02 boost), Quick Detail, Tire dressing, Iron Remover, Multi Surface Cleaner (APC) Koch Chemie - Pre Wash, regaular shampoo (slightly different and less expensive than CarPro) P&S: Bead Maker and Dream Maker (mixed) and tire cleaner Adams: Interior cleaner/protectant Meguiars - I really don't use anymore but have some products left that I use on my wifes car (Ceramic Spray, Interior Clean, Soap)
I understand the question but there is no definitive answer. Yes, there are some basic things that are required but there are so many specialized products that you can or should use, it never ends. Some of us here on the Forum have cabinets full of various products and willing to try new products based on comments here on the board. Zeak2A sums it up pretty good, basic buffers, pads, products, micro-fiber towels etc. Don't forget to watch all the YouTube videos you can on how to use the equipment and products.
I use mostly Adam's products all over the car except for a couple areas. I do like Griots interior cleaner better than Adams. I use Invisible Glass can for windows and then the 3M three stage correction set for any paint work. I am always looking on Adam's and Obsessed Garage for new products. Obessed Garage has some great stuff, and I have picked up some brushes, pads and their Drying aid.

I second this. I like to try different product lines and see what works for me. I’ll just add that P&S express interior cleaner works great and is a great smelling product if that matters to you. Adams, P&S Koch chemie and carpro are the product lines I find myself repurchasing the most.
I used all carpro products for this detail on my Mustang. Used Adams products this day on the GS.
