I have tried a few different things but I continue to get streaks! Microfiber, waffle cloths, cotton cloths...All leave film streaks. I also use the SprayAway glass cleaner. Can someone please lead me in the right direction before I lose my mind! HAHA
I use automotive glass cleaner with Sonax microfiber glass clothes. Then put a light spritz of rubbing alcohol on clean Sonax to remove any streaks left. The correct clothes make the biggest difference.
I usually spray Sprayway on a microfiber towel and wipe the windshield until it’s dirt and streak free. I use a dry waffle weave towel if any lint or streaks are left. I saw a guy on YouTube using a magic eraser on the inside of the windshield. I am going to try that on my engine compartment window for sure.
While at Carlisle last month, my buddy drove his car over to the Adam's Polishes tent while Adam himself was there. Adam was using their Brilliant Glaze on the car and then showed us that it can also be used on the glass as well. Adam applied it with a round pad, let it haze (which only took 10 seconds in that heat) and then wiped it off with a microfiber towel. He used it both inside and out. Made me a believer and gave the glass a nice smooth feel just like freshly waxed paint.

agree with this, I tried brilliant glaze and it’s by far the easiest product I’ve ever used to clean glass especially the inside of my windshield. Only downside is it is pricy; I think it’s around $25 a bottle but definitely lasts a long time.
Since most people don't have your experience, it maybe your process.
1 - Use 2 or 3 towels. First will be the one that you use to spread the cleaner,, the second towels to remove the left over product and dry,, and the 3rd towel to dry the glass completely.
Are these new or used towels? If used, how do you wash them? Hopefully with a clean detergent and not washing them with your regular laundry. Try either a dedicated detergent or something like ALL. Those yellow MF towels from Costco do a good job and very inexpensive. For a less expensive alternative cleaner, use ONR. (optimum no rinse). Add 1 capful to 1 gallon of distilled water. It costs hardly anything and it is a superior product.
Stoner Invisible Glass and short nap microfiber has been my go to combo for years. Wasn't a fan of the diamond weave "glass specific" towels. Waffle weave may work as well.
Invisible Glass Foaming Cleaner and waffle microfibers for glass..
This is the only right answer. I also spent years always fighting streaks. The only way I could get it consistently fixed is following this right here:
1. use the invisible glass foaming aerosol cleaner, and less is more. The more you spray the more time and rags it takes. Assuming the car is already washed you only need a quick spritz to cover half the windshield.
2. (probably even more important) stop using just one microfiber rag. Get one rag to do the heavy lifting, and get it wiped down to where its streaked a little and dry. Then get a fresh one out to go over it again and get the streaks off. The 2nd rag will need to be cycled out once or twice during the whole car cleaning. The first rag doing the heavy lifting can usually last the whole car.
I also use SprayAway but on the inside especially I use a microfiber cloth with rubbing alcohol first. Does a great job getting rid of streaks
I’ve had to use Alcohol too on the inside. There’s so much plastic inside these cars that the off-gassing of all that plastic and vinyl gets on the glass. Regular window cleaner just won’t remove that greasy film, it just scoots it around and streaks it. Also had to clean my window sun shade too. The plastic coating on that was really putting film on the windshield too.
can't believe noone has brought up ole reliable...
bowl of warm/hot water...1-2 oz of Dawn dish soap, 1-2 oz of rubbing alcohol.
1 microfiber to cut the grease and grime
2nd microfiber to buff clean
result: the cleanest, streak free glass you have ever looked thru
This. Make up a Dawn bomb. Lay a clean bath towel across the dash to catch drips. Spray it on half the window and scrub it well. When you’re all clean, use the towel for a final buff. If Dawn can get crude oil off a duck, offgas deposits are nothing.
