Default 3D Printed Parts & Tools: File Repository

What files have you found or created today for your Corvette or garage?

Printer and filament types and quality have improved and proliferated. There are good hard heat resisting plastics, metals, and some fine detail pieces to be had.

>> 360 Fusion CAD files are welcome also for those who want to use Send-Cut-Send or similar. <<

Instead of leaving them strewn across the forum and other sites, why not post the links here to files specific to the C5, tools, or garage use? They can be your files, public files such as on thingiverse, or even links to those selling similar.

I am starting this off with a few saved links and general search items from the Thingiverse page. Keep the thread rolling as you discover or create files elsewhere which apply.

Open Question - should we be SAVING the files somewhere so they don't disappear in time? Maybe a large .rar / .zip / .7zp file if needed?

Edit:
To keep the format easy as the thread grows over years how about a headliner describing the item, link to the item, and picture of the design is available.

Also as it grows I can edit here so if it becomes a multi-page thread all the post links can be listed here by item.

If any forum members created the items below please comment or DM to be given due credit.

Back up camera mount: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4903592
I printed one of these out long ago, but my camera did not fit. Ended up giving it away to someone on here.

Compressor tools for installing scraper rings on C5 steering rack rebuild. These two pieces aid in slipping the scraper rings onto the rack and then setting them in place.

PCM 2-piece bracket - here is one I could use for the Z06 where the outer bracket has snapped. I jury rigged it all together but would much prefer a correct fix.

Headlight bolt hinge sleeve. I can vouch that finding the correct type of bolts to fit with other aftermarket replacement pieces is a nightmare. Being able to print a replacement, if durable in all temperature ranges, is a great option. Or even if you need to replace them once a year if they snap it would still be a minor issue.

This setup lets you replace the factory bolt with an M5x16mm combination and end up with a tighter fit.

Outstanding thread. I will keep an eye on this with the possibility of either making it a sticky by itself or combining it with another thread.

Knee bolster mounting repair bracket for the left side where it bolts to the dash. I had someone print this for me due to the brittle plastic breaking on my knee bolster. Worked like a charm.

Headlight adjuster access cap - because they ALWAYS FALL OUT.

To be honest. If I could make my own at some point using Fusion I believe I would add a way to secure them to the headlight shroud instead of a tension lock which always seems to fail. But this is a great and cheap fix vs buying new GM replacements or chasing wrecking yards.

Door panel access covers. These darned things snap the legs off and get lost all the time. Here is a great and cheap replacement. I have seen them online for sale from others affordably, but if you have a printer why not make your own?

How cool is this? I know some guys out there are going to want it. A pre-printed plate for a Double Din radio bezel to mount your gauges. This one also secures to the existing factory mounts behind the column. Someone will need to come up with an entire replacement column in the future to redo the old Double D Mods tri-gauge setup with double din which eliminates the ashtray and puts the HVAC at the bottom, but that would require either a very large printer or some creative ways to print multiple pieces to work. The sprays used to emulate the factory finish will still exist.

Everyone needs these at one point or another. I have seen them readily available online for under $20 for a set of 8 or so. Definitely not going to break the bank buying them. But again if you have a printer why not make your own if you have the right filament? I will offer that I prefer a slightly larger tab which I then need to sand down slightly in order to create that PERFECT fit.

You and I know the PITA that is battery mounting in the cubby. I have 4 printers at our office and guys that can design almost anything, but no time for car parts. I have thought of designs for a battery box and cover for the cubby.

I have been considering a 3D Scanner, it would make designing parts like this so much more straightforward and reduce the time and R&D significantly. Rather than taking old fashioned measurements and then designing the the part, test fitting, reworking, test fitting, etc.

The temptation is real. Several custom projects on the Z06 would have been amazingly easier with the ability to laser cut and weld or 3d print pieces.
