Default Any Interest For a Cheaper Engine Cover Options From Hulse Designs?

As most of you know, Hulse Designs currently offers the only carbon fiber engine cover option for the LT6 C8 Z06. We were also the FIRST company to market with any cover for the C8 Z06's. There are others out there now, but I still feel we offer the best option as far as looks go!

I realize we are not the cheapest option out there, and there are also people who just are not fans of carbon fiber look. We offer painted covers typically to fill that sector, but we still use carbon fiber cores and just paint over them. This does give you the option to still have a visible carbon fiber "Z06" (or other) script of your choice, but you are paying more than our typical carbon fiber sets for the extra paint and labor.

I have had a few people ask before about a cheaper alternative. So here goes... If I offered a polycarbonate version that are painted (or even just paintable) for a cheaper price point than the carbon fiber versions, would anyone here be interested?

These would essentially be the same design as what we currently offer, just made from different material. Still would fit both coupes and HTCs, still fit under an X-brace, still simple install, still compatible with our screen..

Looking forward to the community's input on this. It costs a lot to get a product set up and production running, so it is a pretty big investment.

Personally, this is a bigger investment than just the cover. Most people aren't going to want to purchase this without other carbon in the bay, which can look really cheap if you just throw on engine covers.
Something cheaper, that works would absolutely be better for most people.

Appreciate the input. I believe our carbon covers can be a great first or even only mod. I had just the covers on my personal car and they really classed up the whole engine bay. Of course, theres less of everything visible in a HTC, but I get your point.

I absolutely would. Almost bought the aluminum covers offered by another manufacturer but I don't like the 670hp on the side of them. The stock black plastic intakes just look so cheap and want something to dress it up without spending a grand.

I am also interested. Would be great if there was an offering painted in Sebring Orange. When I ordered my car I deliberately did not go with the red intake because I felt it would clash and I was hoping that the aftermarket would offer something better.

Not the first request Ive got for that.. There are lots of companies that sell all the other products. We like to sell exclusive pieces that no one else makes. We do partner with other companies though that do sell all the other parts. Places like radiator grille store, RPI, HPO, CForce Performance, and will be with AGM soon, to name a few. I am sure any of them would be happy to make you a package deal!

I didnt know you guys did these, I only saw this at Radiator Grill store. More options are better, or a package for the entire bay to look a certain way. I wanted to get more pics of the dry carbon look, along with radiator caps, frame rails etc. I would absolutely like a painted look vs just carbon options. The carbon looks great but its a lot of money to hide on a HTC under a clear cover you dont see as often as the coupe. I'm glad you made us what you have now, though.

Any Black Friday deals? If you do the same deal as Corvettes in Carlisle I will pull the trigger on a carbon fiber set

I honestly can't say what (if any) BF deals I will be able to do this year. It is going to depend on my inventory status at that point. To be honest, I am pretty low on inventory right now on all finishes. I put in a bulk order with my manufacturer about a month ago and I am expecting to start seeing that inventory come in this month. However, I do not have the final pricing yet for the new stuff but I do know one thing, my prices will be going up. I am trying to do everything I can right now to minimize the increase, but unfortunately, that is just the way of pretty much everything right now.

One other thing I can say is that I will never be able to offer the same deal again as I did at Carlisle earlier this year. Sorry, that was a one time thing and I even mentioned at the time that price might not ever happen again.

With all this being said, I have also begun the process of going forward with creating this new material made from polycarbonate which will be offered in painted form for a lower price entry point. Currently trying to target this as being the most affordable cover on the market, so I will try my best to make that happen for those who can't justify the cost, or just don't like the looks of carbon fiber.

I also will be able to offer a LOT more carbon fiber colors once the new stock comes in! So stay tuned. Very exciting things are coming!

Thanks for the orders yesterday, guys.

In full transparency, I have 1 red set left, 1 blue set left, 2 matte sets left, and less than 10 gloss sets left in inventory right now. I am supposed to get new stock sometime this month, but pricing for the carbon sets will be going up after these last remaining stock is sold. Now is the best time to get your carbon fiber covers. Because I do not know if there will even be any left at this price by black friday.

Appreciate the kind words. Of course I am partial, but I think they are the best looking ones on the market.

Recieved them yesterday. Very good looking!. Dropped off the car for ppf/tint so didn't get a chance to install. Did install the decal on my shop wall 😁. Are there better instructions for the screen? Stud and vacuum cap aren't mentioned in the instructions online.

awesome! Glad you got them.

As far as installation goes, the video is best:

But the stud is for spacing out the fuel line and the vacuum cap is for HTCs only.

Make something for the regular C8 that isn't a rehash of what GM supplies.
