I recently purchased a 2012 corvette and found that the car drones excessively while not being that loud (previous owner cutout mufflers). Due to this I’ve been looking into different axle back exhausts and wanted to get general opinions or even links to good quality videos from owners.
I’d like the car to be louder but little to no
drone for the longer drives.
The two I’ve considered are the Corsa Xtreme and AWE Touring.
If you have one of these setups with your car I’d love to hear it and hear from you.
Does it drone?
Do you have dB readings at idle and/or acceleration?
Would you classify the sound as low and deep or more of a scream?
Any and all comments from those who have heard either or both would be greatly appreciated.
I started with the Corsa Extreme and now have the AWE touring. My one and only reason to change from Corsa to AWE was to fit a new rear diffuser from EOS with the exhaust section cutout. Having both my opinion is Corsa is superior all around minus hanging too low. This AWE fits like **** and the whole thing is crooked with no adjustment where it needs it since its one piece from X-pipe all the way back to the tip outlets. Its extremely close to differential cooler on driver side and a vacuum line on passenger side. I'm debating getting a new Corsa Extreme and having it modified to tuck up higher that's how annoyed I am by the AWE. Don't be fooled by the first picture, the tips only seem like they're aligned, but in reality they are twisted. I spent another 3 hours last night screwing with the whole exhaust trying to make it better but I just don't think its compatible with stainless works aftermarket X-pipe or maybe the jig was off idk. The Corsa had no issue aligning the tips it just hung too low and rubbed my diffuser.
I have both in stock - happy to discuss further and extend forum pricing.

These videos are almost exactly what I was looking for, can’t believe I couldn’t find them with a simple google search. Hard to tell but it almost sounded as if the corsa was louder and brought out the addition of the cam more. Either way more different sounding than I thought they would be. Is the pricing drastically different from the websites?

Wow I figured both would have no issues when it came to alignment or figment issues this is interesting.

Forgot to mention, I believe my car is stock other than the muffler delete. Hard to tell as the car is lowered and I currently have no way to get it up in the air to get a good look.

Corsa is FAR from perfect and IMHO overhyped overpriced trash.
That being said, what do you mean “single piece from x pipe to tips”?
Are you referring to because the mufflers and over axle pipe are welded together instead of separate?
I had concerns about that as well, but there looked to be several adjustment points with the tips and that center piece to align things up

AWE is one piece (overaxle pipes/mufflers welded together) - Corsa’s over axle pipes and mufflers are separate.
My AWE system fit perfectly but I do see where the one piece is more difficult to adjust

We all have our opinions hopefully based on actual experience. My actual experience tells me the Corsa I had fit way better for me minus hanging too low. The over the axle pipes and mufflers were independently adjustable meanwhile the AWE can't be adjusted in the same manner. Even the bracket in the middle is kinda of useless to me as there is so much tension in trying to pull it where I need it that it just binds up. As far as adjusting the tips, I don't see several adjustment points when you just tighten a single nut and hope it stays in place where you wedge it. AWE sounds great but doesn't fit as good as I'd hoped for me.
Seperately, as far as AWE customer service goes I briefly reached out a couple months ago right after I got the exhaust with these concerns and they wanted all this proof of serial numbers and pictures and bunch of BS hoops to jump through before they'd offer any advice. I must have been one of the first in the country to order so I found that pretty **** poor to go through for an at launch product purchasing. I haven't reached back out since. They've clearly seen my post on their own launch thread and dismissed it about the fitment. Another Corsa is in my future at some point when I get annoyed enough.

This is deff concerning as I was looking to ditch my Corsa and go AWE.
Awe is kind of localish to me. I met some crew and had concerns about the single pipe design for install, but they made it seem like the adjustment in the tips and center piece made it all worth it.

My AWE system fit perfectly but I do see where the one piece is more difficult to adjust
I think AWE or a willing reseller should post an in depth install video on these and showing the fitment.
AWE has some cool sound clips, but the file t an install was for some reason skipped over
We've done a couple of Corsa to AWE exhausts and haven't had any issues. People do like the Corsa for the higher pitch sound and AWE is a great bang for buck. Determining factor for someone I just helped with a 2010 was the tips, so he went with AWE.
Let us know, we have both systems in stock and can work you a deal.

I'll happily do one the next time I have a car in for one, or maybe I'll pull it off of my car and film the (re)install.
It's a breeze if you have a lift. Still doable if not, but you have to get the rear end pretty high to maneuver over the axle
Few years ago. Every place I looked has the AWE touring for $1650, and track edition is listed for $1135. I paid $1700 for the Corsa.
*Corsa Extreme is on sale for $1999 - so $350 more.
If we go pure retail, Corsa mufflers are typically about $2500 MSRP. The AWE is $1600 and change.
AWE released theirs for $1200 and then ran that same sale for Black Friday.
Corsa maybe goes to $1700 and change when you are lucky.
I have 2 Corsa setups and my opinions stick. They are overpriced junk and their support is mid at best.
Ill even go on record and say I think Borla makes one of the nicer kits out there quality wise.
