Can someone recommend extended warranty company besides Car Shield who in my opinion is a non-performing extended warranty company that will not cover auto repair as advertised in the media.
Never buy any extended warranty other than a factory extended warranty.
This is not necessarily true. Speak with your dealership and discuss what they offer. Your dealership is not going to offer something from CarShield (and if they do, run from that dealer).
If it's too late for you to get it from the above mentioned, the thing to do is to talk to your local repair shops to see which ones they have the fewest problems with. For another vehicle I had asked and they told me the one that the local credit union offers gives them the least headache.
The biggest issue with any sort of aftermarket warranties that have any kind of exclusions is that a lot of times they are explained wrong and are written by lawyers to where most poeple do not truly understand it or they don’t understand how a car actually works as part as how the individual components work. It’s pretty common for a wear/ not covered item to cause a major failure that then wouldn’t be covered.
For example, if a head gasket fails and your engine blows there may be fine print saying gasket failures are not covered and therefore the warranty won’t cover the engine. But maybe not in the corvette community but most of the general population doesn’t even know what a head gasket is let alone that it connects 2 parts of the engine and isn’t included in the “engine warranty”.

Powertrain coverage is the worst situation. What you want is “Exclusionary” coverage where anything that is not covered is specifically listed.
Are you past the B2B warranty coverage? If not, Todd Sutherland at MacMulkin Chevrolet is the person to contact. If you are past your B2B, contact Dennis Fichtner at Laurel:

Never buy these warranties. No different than the home warranties that realtors try to hawk when you buy a house. They have miles of fine print that give them all sorts of ways to weasel out of covering stuff, trust me I've read it, and also seen it from the service side when I did HVAC. If your furnace is rusting apart and one part breaks, and it financially makes sense to replace the entire unit, they will ONLY cover the bare minimum part to get the thing running again. Basically their entire business model is layer bandaids on top of bandaids until the policy term expires, and thats if their fine print doesn't get them to weasel out first.
I got mine near the expiration of he B2B in 2024, an 8 year 80K plan for less than 2500 from Todd. I view it as limiting my repair costs for the next 8 years to the cost of the plan - out to 2032. Yes there are some items excluded, such as the "convertible top frame" and "headlamp assemblies". But the vast majority of mechanical and electronic components and the labor to replace them is included.
I never buy extended warranties for anything, but...I just purchased the Platinum 5 year/50,000 mile warranty from Todd at MacMulkin for my 2023 C8 today. His pricing was the best I could find and considering how expensive some issues can be to repair I felt it was money well spent.
I’m almost to the point on my B2B warranty I need to start looking. Only thing I’m concerned about and only reason I’d ever consider an extended warranty is for the dct transmission. All of the other stuff I can deal with out of pocket but not a $20k transmission.
To date MY24 3LT Z51 Stingray has been trouble free in 11.5k miles. Has the passenger door alignment issue so many C8s have and I went to have it scheduled to be corrected but weather got bad back in feb and I never rescheduled and after seeing so many online the same I may not address that. To many things there could go wrong. My dash has not bubbled up yet either. Fingers crossed it doesn’t.
I've never bought extended warranty, and never will....IMO, too much small print, and it seems like when problems happen, it's not covered.....I'll be trading in my 23 once the PowerTrain Warranty is up....Too risky keeping it without warranty....Did the same with my 2019......

As others have said, the GMPP (Platinum) is the one to get as it’s defined exclusionary (specifically defines what it doesn’t cover). I’m not usually an extended warranty person, but I bought the 7 year GMPP on the 23 70th Z06 I just purchased. I still had 2 years of powertrain warranty left, but I plan on keeping this one for a long time, and the complexity of the DCT and all the electronics make me uncomfortable with not having a long term warranty on it. For ~$2500 for 7 years with $0 deductible, it was easy peace of mind (the dealer matched Todd’s price even though he said it was below his cost).

The thing about extended warranties is once it is purchased they send an instant command to block any mechanical issues. Without fail when I purchase it’s never needed. When I don’t that’s when things go wrong.
