Default Faulty AEM Wideband o2 sensors

I hope i am not bearing a dead horse but has anyone found a solution to the faulty o2 sensors on the aem wideband gauges? I had mine installed two weeks ago and after a couple of dyno pulls, one day out the sensor gave up. I have contacted AEM but i refuse to keep replacing sensors. What works and what doesent please chime in...

Sensor shows 4 dashes (cant see in the pic) and leaned to 20. This is the x series uego afr

I have never had an issue with their sensors and had them on cars for years.

Your install angle, location and if you keep the car on accessory to where the heater is constantly running can all contribute to killing them

I had a shop do it. Not sure where they installed it. I have to get under the car to check but I did see it going to the passenger side footwell fuse box. I think it goes tapped into heated seats?

That's a fine location to tap for power as it's only hot when the car is on. Physical location of the O2 sensor is also important so it's mounted high enough to not have water collect on it.

Are you sure there's an actual problem? That's what they do during dfco when it is super lean

we will see lol new warranty replacement arrived today. If it was too lean then how does that happen on 93 octane?

He's saying that it's normal to show full lean (dashes) during deceleration. It should give you an AFR reading at pretty much all other times including idle, cruising, and WOT. Octane isn't a factor.

I could be wrong, as it’s been forever since I messed with these, but I thought they went full rich when the sensors were bad, not full lean.

my apologies, I meant to say rich! I am unfamiliar with these damn maf air fuel gauges. Personally I hate them.

I meant to say the entire time “rich”. Gauge was stuck maxed out on Rich so I assume it was the o2 sensor tha came with the kit.

By the way I removed it yesterday and it had no text or marking on it. Seemed like a knockoff so I installed an oem bosh lsu 4.9 sensor now. Should work….

Did you ever get this figured out? I got the same gauge and it started showing this after 2 days. If I'm not mistaken that is full lean at 20?

Mine seems to be doing the same and its brand new...
