Default 2027 price increase on ZR1/C6ZR1 values

With the 2027 price increase on ZR1’s what’s your thoughts on C6ZR1 demand/values? Saw on the other forums all the C7Zr1 owners think it’ll increase their values even more which is crazy to me because a low mile manual are close to C8Zr1 msrp prices. I actually thought the demand for the C6Zr1 would’ve been higher because of the crazy prices.

Impossible to predict future car values but I would think those in the market for C7 or C8 ZR1s would be different buyers then those buying a 12 year old C6 ZR1 so I wouldn’t think it would have a direct impact. Impossible to speak for everyone but I would think a potential Zc8 ZR1 buyer would choose a C8 Z06 or GS over a C6 ZR1 just because they are such different cars.

Hard to really say but I’d expect c6zr1 prices to continue to rise. In my opinion, the people who have c8zr1 money but dont want an automatic spaceship will continue to buy c7zr1 and the guys who want a c7zr1 but cant afford it will go c6zr1. Plus they’re getting hard to find in general. Especially ones that aren’t modded out the wazoo

I'd like to see the price drop so one day I could afford one.

Silly post. A 6.6% YoY increase on a mid engine, automatic, twin turbo, 1,000+hp 2027 Corvette is not going to affect the price of a 15 year old front engine, manual, 600+hp supercharged Corvette. No one is saying "well since new ZR1s are more expensive I'm willing to pay more for a C6 ZR1. Values of C6 ZR1s are likely to keep rising but it won't be because C8 ZR1 price increases outpace inflation.

This ^^^^^^^^^^^!!!

There are many factors that effect used car prices but a C8Z06 or C8ZR1 will have very little direct impact on C6ZR1 used prices. The C8ZR1 current prices will drop and fast once the pent up demand wanes which it will probably fairly quickly at the present MSRP prices just like they have with the C8Z06's which are now selling brand new for $8-10,000 BELOW List MSRP...............

All I know is that my C6 ZR1s are NOT FOR SALE...EVER! I've had TWO text unsolicited calls (one left a voicemail and both left text messages) in the past few days begging to buy my ZR1s. So freaking weird...never happened before.

The C6ZR1's are GREAT cars AND are the last of the truly analog corvettes, that fact will make them VERY valuable going forward.........

While there are benefits of the C6 ZR1 not sure what you mean by analog. There are complex electronics that are likely going to be difficult to replace in the future since GM has officially stopped supporting these cars and given how limited these cars were I doubt aftermarket is going to step in as it likely won’t be profitable.

Only time will tell if they turn out to be annoyances like the C5 ECBM brake module or something that is a bigger issue. There are also posts in this section of parts that are no longer produced and difficult to get.

Analog means that the steering and braking outputs are directly related to the driver inputs. Digital means that the steering and braking inputs are digitally related to the inputs. There is a computer in between to determine what output should be supplied (based on programming).. The driver does not determine the result, the computer does.

There are a few companies that are buying them up everywhere they can...I don't foresee the ZR1's losing any value anytime soon,,,,its the last of the "analog" era in the Corvette platform.

There are a few aftermarket ECU's out there that are ALOT better than the OEM already. The LS market is HUGE...and still very relevant!

I missed the low price period by a year or so. Was getting ready to retire and move, then was going to purchase one. I remember ZR1’s in the low $50’s and a couple Z07 cars in the mid/upper $40’s. Ah well, I’m beyond thrilled with my 2008 Z06. If the opportunity ever presents itself to add a ZR1, I’ll be ready but certainly not a priority.
