Default 1984 Corvette Drivers side Window Bracket Broken

Hello,
I have the older version of the power window system. It would appear as though the mounting bracket for the system has broken and bent the rod. Now the window is wobbly, and I fear the entire system will break soon. Any ideas on how to fix this?

The 84 window regulators were weak from the beginning, Even if you replace those parts other parts will eventually fail due to age and poor design. The scissor style regulator for the 1987-1996 Corvette window was provided by GM as a service repair in 1987 as an update to the old 1984-1986 ribbon style regulators. Although it’s a bit of an initial outlay the results are amazing. 10 times faster and smoother than the old style and much quieter. I replaced both sides on my 84 and they take about an hour or so per side. Adjusting is a bit fiddly but not overly complicated.

I second what 84C4Tom states. Upgrading to the newer scissor style regulator was one of the best things I did to my '84. So much smoother and faster.

Wanted to give an update. I ended up fixing it using 3D printed loops and JB Weld Plastic Bonder. We shall see how long this lasts!
