FUNNY HOW the MODERATORS dont put a ERAY fast list . Cause it beats most C8’s only exclusion is the zr1 &zr1x . Its the best bang for buck C8 out there.
The Eray name may not survive but the technology will. These are great cars, it’s a shame that they got caught up in eco politics. The ZR1X is so dominating that it’s going to change a lot of Corvette minds about electric AWD.

I believe this to be true. And before the ZR1X, the SF90, 296, Revuelto, P1, 918, Artura and many others aren't bad cars to be modeled after. You can already see it in the interest on this forum in both the ZR1X and GSX.

Yeh, I was hoping the SF90 would have been the inspiration for the ERAY. If I was building a Corvette, it would have a 4.4 FPC Z06 motor, twin electric motors up front @150hp each, true torque vectoring and be a PHEV. But I guess in Corvette world that is the boogeyman. In Ferrari world, it was the fastest production car ever built.

this would drive the cost massively up. There is noch cost difference for a 5.5 or 4.4 FPC engine. (The engine is the major cost driver of the Z06) dual electric motors add also complexity and cost. Basically doubling the electric drivetrain cost, because ist motor + inverter electronics and you have to sand the w wheels to avoid torque steering on the straight, further this is adding complexity for Conner driving control. (More calibration and testing efforts). To make it PHEV you also add additional components like a 3 phase charging system. And you need a bigger battery(8-12kwh) so you gonna face a massive bump in weight increase 300-400lbs at least vs. a regular eray. So the car is getting really heavy. And much more expensive. Ferrari is compensating the weight increase with very fancy aluminium & carbonfiber body parts. (One reason for a much higher price).
Frankly: the Team Corvette made a fantastic job by choosing a very straight forward way to create a fantastic performance hybrid, and keeping weight at bay. Also calibrating it in a way it can create really great driving pleasure. And also beeing capable to be a safe daily driver.
Big thanks to Team Corvette and GM to make this car happen.
I just read the previous yapping about the GS vs the Zo6 and the performance of the two. No comparison mentioned vs the mighty E Ray. I know why they wouldn’t talk about it. They would get destroyed on the street. Thank god i own an old piece of crap E at a great price. Not saying the other vette’s aren’t great cars,I just believe the good old forgotten E Ray is the right car for me. I am very happy with it and plan to keep it for a while. Adios guys. Let the stones fly.
Not sure, but might be that the availability turned Customers down. Perhaps it was the allocation game in 2024. i believe there was quite a bit of interested but GM could satisfy the demand so people want for an Z06.

Sf90, revuelto, artura, 296 all have bad resale values compared to non hybrid models. Could be due to battery warranty concerns, weak sound, added complexity, weight, etc but not very popular. And don't even think about ev supercars that are doa. Rimate, pininfarina, lotus, Tesla all vaporware due to lack interest
We don't mind. Some of us want Corvette models to succeed. Because it benefits all of us.
Most don't, and I don't get it. They are both great cars... amazing cars. My choice was an Eray, it checked way more boxes for me and I test drove the **** out of both. The facts are the facts, Eray is quicker off the line and better low end torque (and speed) and the Z06 is better top end and for the track. Both are enjoyable and each have their type of driver. It is possible to own one and still love and respect the other. I have met a ton of guys Z06 to an Eray and loved it and had no regrets (1 guy did cause he missed the sound) but I have not met and heard of 1 Eray guy trading it in and going Z06 (I'm sure some are out there).
