Installed a used license plate filler on my 86 LT4, I was lucky to find a used one same color on eBay and then I did the black lettering also from eBay. I love the look!
I wish I could do that. But in the state of Maryland you'll get ticketed (ask me how I know.)
I was pulled over by a State Trooper in Texas for not having a front plate. Somehow, he had on his little handheld ticket printer that I'd been warned twice before. He gave me another warning with a whole speech about how I need a front plate, blah blah blah. When he was done I said "Trooper, with all due respect, I will never put a front license plate on this car. We both know it's just a money grab and it looks terrible. You can go ahead and write me up. I'll pay the fine and the plate will be off again before I drive away from the inspection station. So whatever you'd like to do. But there will never be a front plate on this vehicle."
He just glared at me shook his head and walked away.
When I lived in Texas I had a cop give me a looong look when I was stopped at a red light and he was passing by on the green.
I had no front plate. I'm guessing he was torn between the law and practicality/looks of a front plate. Now I'm in Ohio
(a one-plate state) and I have my old Texas plate on the front but it's not on a Corvette.
