Knocking on wood! My 20 year old C6 still has the original sensors and they work fine. I don't know if it matters or not but my car has never been a garage queen. I've also gone through 3 sets of tires.
I replaced both my front tpms sensors on my 09 last summer since it kept triggering my service active handling warning. I probably should have just replaced the rears as well but was just pressed for time with having a HPDE event next morning. Oh well.
My 2010 still has the factory ones installed. They do weird things sometimes though - like showing XX on one side or say the PSI is low when it isnt. Next drive its always fine. I am sure the batteries are almost dead but my phone and FM transmitter does seem to mess with them a bit.
Is this a DIY pro jet or you have to,deflate tire and pul on side off rim?
You will have to break the bead and push it down where the sensor/ valve goes.
I tire shop just pushes the tire bead in that area down with their hydraulic tire dismount tool and replace the sensor. That way, a tire rebalance is not necessary.
