How to replace/install front hood struts on a 2020 C8 Coupe

How to replace/install front hood struts on a 2020 C8 Coupe
The front hood struts on my 2020 C8 coupe need to be replaced (remains open in fully extended position only). Searches incorrectly states that no panels require removal, only general text information on how to remove and reinstall struts (pop clip to remove/tap on new strut as needed).
Access to the hinge side is possible by removing both inside side frunk covers, then removal of the rear battery cover. I can see the body side where the bottom of the strut attaches below the hinge, but it is not accessible from the top. It appears that the tire and inner wheel well needs to be removed to accomplish the removal and installation of both front hood struts.
Anyone knowing the process please confirm.
Once confirmed I plan to perform the removal and installation of the front hood struts, then document and post the entire process.

I appreciate the information that you provided. I plan to purchase access to the service procedures (I wasn’t aware that they existed). I also plan to replace the hood struts and post the process along with pictures. Thank you!
