If the Corvette didn't weigh double what an Indycar weighs, then the ZR1 might be competitive....

Man, that's incredible!
It seems like Pace Car Corvettes really slacked off in design after 1998, with only a handful of exceptions since then. This one looks so cool! Awesome color combination, with the stars and stripes separating the two.

Nice design.
Although, as a "all around" car guy, I wish they'd use something other than Corvettes (or other GM products).
Spacing out the pace cars could give the Corvette team a chance to make pace car replicas something special.
IMS owner Penske operates dozens of dealerships that cover virtually every make, so theoretically, he should be okay with that.
He did get his start selling Chevys and of course racing them, so I appreciate his history.
As I kid, the pace car meant something instead of being just another product placement.
And historically, it should go back to representing the latest American performance car.
Although, as a "all around" car guy, I wish they'd use something other than Corvettes (or other GM products).
