Curious to what setup is needed to run 305 or 315 tires up front without rubbing? looks like just about everyone is running 38 front offsets. is a camber kit like the one from AMT all that's needed? Doesn't seem like there is a lot of camber adjust just from bolts, not like other strut tower style cars.
I've been running 315's (Nankangs and Hoosier A7's) in the front on Apex 18in wheels with no issues. I have the AMT Camber kit, stock leaf springs and DRM shocks. At full lock they will rub the stock plastic brake cooling ducts enough to break them if your not careful. No issues on track. This was my alignment with the Hoosiers.
I run the 18x11 Apex wheels ET 57 square with 315's. I have an 07 narrow body. You need at least 2.7* negative camber for these to fit. Even then, I still have some rubbing at full lock. Ride height will play a little part, but alignment will be the big one.
you need to understand how the suspension and wheels work together. Some cars have shims behind the upper front control arms, and you can remove them to tuck the wheels inward. The lower concentrics can move the bottom of the wheels outward which will also tilt the tops of the tire inward. You can't just do this randomly though, these also effect your caster and if not careful you can move your wheel forward/rearward in the fender well and cause rubbing into the front/aft portions of the liner. 315's are a stretch for a base C6, 275 and 295 are much easier for a non-competition setup.
And anyone that tracks Corvettes with large tires will learn, sooner or later, never turn to full lock. You don't need to on track, and you should never need to in the paddock either if you pay attention to where you are going.
