NOS GM 5690810 & NOS GM 3866469 C2 Steering Column Parts
NOS GM 5690810; 1963-1966 Steering Shaft; Non-Tele
About 20 years ago I bought this NOS steering shaft for the restoration of my ‘66, but my original shaft turned out to be perfectly reusable. I no longer have the GM paperwork for this, but I know it is a GM NOS part because I never bought reproduction parts if I could find GM NOS examples. There is a bit of mottling of the finish along the length of one side of the shaft. Probably from lying on that side for decades. Comes with upper nut. $70 + $20 shipping to the lower 48. If you’re considering buying a repro, you’ll pay at least 50% more. (Repros cost around $115 + shipping + tax, or about $135 or $140 total.) Payment via PayPal.
NOS GM 3866469; 1964-1966 Steering Mast Jacket/Tube; Non-Tele
I bought this GM NOS steering mast jacket in 2021, but I wound up restoring the original tube on my car. $80 + $20 shipping to the lower 48. If you’re considering buying a repro, you’ll pay at least 40% more. (Repros cost $120 + shipping + tax, or about $140 total.) Payment via PayPal.
I’d really prefer selling both items to the same person. If you purchase both the shaft and the mast jacket, I can combine shipping and ship for a total of $25 to the lower 48. Grand total for both would be $175. Once again, payment via PayPal.
Thanks guys. My obsession with careful packing is why I won’t ship the NOS 66/67 rear valance I’ve been trying to sell for the past 6 or 8 months. I’d never forgive myself if it got damaged during shipping. So, local pickup only. Which really decreases the buyer pool.
As you can see by my post on this thread I was targeted by a scammer first.
It was some email that looked to be Latino female.
I’ve purchased from many members of this forum since 2011 in both my previous C3 ownership and more recently in the C2 group. I have been blessed as I haven’t had any problems.
A tip that has worked for me since this scamming has become a daily occurrence is I always PM the seller directly to confirm the email address for payment.
Even this seller Gary whom I’ve purchased from in the past I contacted him and confirmed the email address.
I figured that the first response was fake and reported it to the administrators. If you contact the seller and confirm the payment address you should have no problem.
As soon as you show interest in an item the scam alarm goes off and they start their 💩.
If you purchase the item using PayPal for buyers not friends and family you have a very good chance of being reimbursed.
I hope this helps at least one person out there.
I’m certainly sorry about the theft by deception.
