Default Who else share the madness

Is there anyone else out there like me—absolutely buzzing with excitement, planning every detail months ahead, and pouring a small fortune into a car that hasn’t even been built, let alone ordered? I figured I can’t be the only one! For the record, I’m first on the list with my local dealer for the HTC GSX, and if that doesn’t pan out, plan B is a 2026 Eray or Z06, new or used. The anticipation is half the fun, right?

Since I can’t take delivery yet, I’ve channeled all that energy into prepping for the big day. Here’s my running tally so far: I picked up progressive prescription glasses—my first pair ever!—just so I can keep an eye on both the road and those beautiful vehicle gauges. I upgraded my old Giraffe Pressure Washer for a commercial grade Active 3.0, complete with the full setup. My garage has gotten the royal treatment, too: a thorough cleaning, a fresh coat of paint, and even more cabinets for all the gear.

On the car parts front, I’ve already got two sets of HRE wheels, a Z07 carbon fiber front splitter with canards, side splitters, and a high wing. Every aero piece is getting PPF. I didn’t stop there—carbon fiber side mirror caps, nacelles, and a ZR1 style hood are all ready and waiting. For maintenance, I got a new low-profile 3-ton floor jack. But of course, the list isn’t complete yet!

On deck for the next shopping spree: vanity plates, vinyl for the roof, Paragon lowering springs, jack pads, and jack stands.

Anyone else going all-in before the car’s even on order? Let’s hear your stories and shopping lists—maybe we can swap tips (or talk each other out of that next must-have accessory)! Looking forward to hearing from the fellow planners and car fanatics out there!

BTW: my wife thinks I’m crazy!!!

I anticipated to a much lesser degree. I trade about every 5 years so purchasing is sort of routine.

I thought I was putting too much time and energy into my pending GS order. I feel much better about where I'm at after reading this post.

j/k...if that is how you enjoy going about it and have the means to do so, more power to you! I'm too much closer to wondering when I'm going to get annoyed enough and/or lose patience enough to throw in the towel than to go out and start buying stuff for the potential new one yet.

Customed HRE wheels often require a significant lead time and can sometimes take over two months to complete. In addition, some of products I’ve purchased are fabricated and shipped from China, which typically takes 1.5 months. It takes 5 or 6 weeks for vanity plates.

Timing truly is everything—having your order in early puts you in a position of advantage. When the GS and GSX models are released, I anticipate a surge in demand for the aero package. This increased interest is likely to affect both pricing and availability, so making a purchase now is definitely the smart move to secure what you need without delay. I’m constantly researching and shopping to find the best deals.

I used Google Sheets to budget for these items and crossed them off as I acquired them starting months before I got my car.

Twenty lifetime Vettes. Each one was unique. And, I was excited getting each one. Not crazy. Just very excited.

It doesn't hurt to prepare in advance. I had already owned several Porsches and I had a foam canon and pressure washer along with a lot of Griot's Garage, Adams, Chemical Guys products. I already had an air compressor. The only car specific thing I bought was the jack pucks and they are still not installed after two months. Sadly, I've still not hit 800 miles on the car yet.

My only suggestion is to hold off on installing a "ZR1 style hood". I know it is not open like a real ZR1 hood, but that's the one thing that doesn't work for me. Also, remember the 1980s when GM put lots of fake scoops and intakes on their cars? Good luck with the GSX.

Always good to have Quick Jacks. Yeah I got them while my stingray was on order.

Seven new vehicles since 2020. Sorta indecisive about what I want to drive. I’m really liking the Z06 though. My wife has given up trying to figure me out,
